TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR head to St Mary’s on Sunday 21 January, with Spurs looking like a good bet to beat a Southampton team who could be in a relegation scrap this season.

The Saints decided to part company with Claude Puel last season, although Mauricio Pellegrino has not had the desired effect and the manager will hope to make some new signings now that Virgil van Dijk has been sold to Liverpool for a princely sum.

The two teams met at Wembley a few weeks ago and it was men against boys, with Tottenham winning the game 5-2 after storming into 4-0 lead, with Harry Kane scoring his latest hat-trick in this match and it wouldn’t be a huge shock if he plundered another three here.

Kane was able to bag a brace against Everton last weekend and it appears that Dele Alli is returning to form, while Son Heung-Min is proving to be a revelation in the wide positions.

While the absence of Toby Alderweireld doesn’t make the London side completely watertight, they are certainly back in the winning habit and should have too much for a Southampton team who have lost five matches at home already this season.

Barcelona form the other half of the Sunday double, with the Catalan club racing away at the top of La Liga and it won’t be long before they have the title sewn up.

Barca went two goals down away to Real Sociedad last Sunday before rallying in the second half and it demonstrates their character to recover such a hefty losing position.

Barcelona have won eight of their ten matches on the road and are unbeaten in La Liga this term, with Real Betis sitting thirteenth in the table and they have been involved in several high-scoring encounters this term.

That included a crazy 5-3 win away to Sevilla although it illustrates a shaky defence which might see Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez take full advantage.
