World Cup qualifying preview – Friday 1 Sep

There are Group C, Group E and Group F matches taking place on Friday and that includes world champions Germany facing off with Czech Republic.

It’s no surprise to see Germany storming clear at the top of UEFA qualifying group C, having won all six matches and Die Mannschaft have scored twenty-seven goals and conceded just the one goal.

Therefore, the odds of 1.60 (3/5) with Sky Bet about them winning in Prague on Friday looks a decent bet, with Joachim Low’s side looking to enjoy a flawless qualifying campaign before jetting off to Russia next summer.

The Czech Republic need a positive result if they are to finish second, with the Czechs trailing Northern Ireland by four points and they can be backed at 6.50 (11/2) with Unibet to pull off the unexpected and topple the world champions.

A draw would represent a good point for the home side and that’s a 3.50 (5/2) chance with Ladbrokes , with the Republic unbeaten at home in qualifying thus far.

Northern Ireland should pick up three easy points away to San Marino and they are a 1.03 (3/100) shot to collect a maximum haul to help them on their way to a potential play-off.

England look set for another World Cup appearance after racking up four wins and a draw from their six qualifying matches and the Three Lions are unbackable at 1.02 (1/50) to win in Malta.

However, Scotland are angling for second place with a strong finish and Sky Bet have 1.83 (5/6) to overcome the challenge of Lithuania, a match which could be tricky for a team who regularly flatter to deceive.

Gordon Strachan’s side did manage a 2-2 draw with England and actually came close to beating the Three Lions, although the home side could be a spot of value at odds of 5.00 (4/1) with BetVictor .

Slovakia could head-to-head with Slovenia, with the home side a point better off at this stage and they are strong favourites to win at 2.10 (11/10) with Sky Bet to get the better of their opponents.

Slovenia did win the reverse fixture by a 1-0 scoreline and a repeat victory can be backed at odds of 3.80 (14/5) with BetVictor .
