Morocco v Namibia Betting Tips
2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification Group K was the tightest of the lot, with just two points separating the four teams who were competing in that section.
Namibia managed to finish second and thus qualify for AFCON for the first time since 2008. The only other time that the Brave Warriors managed to make it to the tournament finals was in 1998 and that also ended with just one point from the group stage.
Ricardo Mannetti will now try and make his team competitive in Egypt although they qualified with a negative goal difference and it ended with a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Zambia, with the Namibians scoring just five goals in six matches.
You’d be hard-pressed to name many of the players, with many of them operating for South African clubs on a domestic level, including Highlands Park pair Denzil Hoaseb and Peter Shalulile, the latter of whom is possibly the most dangerous forward player.
It’s hard to see how they’re going to get a positive result against a Morocco team who were far more convincing in qualifying when finishing top of a group that also featured Cameroon, Malawi and Comoros.
Herve Renard remains in charge of a team who acquitted themselves well at the 2018 World Cup in a group that also featured Spain, Portugal and Iran. They battered Iran in the opening game only to lose 1-0 before a narrow defeat against the Portuguese and then a 2-2 draw against Spain.
Renard will hope that his team’s failure to score goals in that tournament is remedied in Egypt, with Ayoub El Kaabi cutting an exciting figure and the Hebei China Fortune striker has managed to score eleven goals in fifteen matches at international level.
Defensively, there is plenty to like, with Medhi Benatia skippering the team and playing alongside Manuel da Costa, Nabil Dirar and Roman Saiss, with Morocco taken to win this opener without reply.
