Aston Villa have had a strange old season which began with Steve Bruce in charge, although the natives got increasingly restless and Dean Smith is now hoping to steer the Midlands club to the Premier League.

It looks a big ask for the Villans to land a play-off spot considering they sit four points behind sixth-placed Derby having played a game more and it might soon get to the stage where they run out of games to grab a play-off spot.

At least they have the division’s leading scorer and Tammy Abraham’s form has been sensational in the Championship this term, with the Chelsea forward having plundered nineteen goals this season and he’s in a rich vein of form right now.

Since scoring at Derby on 10 November, the former Swansea forward has bagged fifteen goals in thirteen matches, with the England striker having scored in his last seven matches at Villa Park.

Sheffield United arrive with automatic promotion on their minds and they will hope to close the gap on Leeds and Norwich, with Chris Wilder having seen his side win seven times on the road this term.

There have been forty-two goals scored in their fifteen away games this season, so they always seem to roll their sleeves up and have a pop at whichever opponents they are facing, with striker Billy Sharp currently one goal behind Abraham.

We’re backing a high goal count in this clash, with the past five Aston Villa games featuring three goals or more and Dean Smith clearly wants his side to be forward-thinking and look to outscore the opposition.

Draws are no good for a team in Villa’s position, especially as there are so many sides vying for those hallowed play-off spots and we should expect an attacking and entertaining game of football.
