James Shan looks as though he will remain in caretaker charge of the Baggies between now and the end of the season, with Darren Moore recently being sacked and West Brom now look set to land a play-off spot in the Championship.

Shan has overseen wins over Swansea and Brentford to steady the ship after three matches without a victory and we’re backing the Albion to record a fourth straight victory against a Birmingham side who have hit a big slump in recent weeks.

The defensive issues that saw West Brom concede four times against Leeds appear to have been addressed, with consecutive clean sheets being enjoyed although Albion’s form at The Hawthorns has been scrappy, with only eight wins coming in nineteen home encounters.

There is no getting away from the goal count and forty-one have been plundered at home which is over two on average. Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle have enjoyed good seasons and Kyle Edwards has nudged his way into contention.

Birmingham have slipped down to thirteenth place in the Championship after previously looking as though they could challenge for a play-off spot, although there is now a gap of seven points between themselves and sixth-placed Villa.

Garry Monk has had to contend with a modest budget at St Andrews and the threat of financial penalties from overspending, with some talking of a potential twelve-point deduction.

The Blues have now lost their previous four matches and they have failed to score in that quartet of games, with Che Adams and Lukas Jutkiewicz unable to make an impact in forward positions.

The visitors will look to try and keep things tight in a bid to stop the rot in this clash, although we can see West Brom finding the net enough times to get over the line and bank themselves another precious three-point haul.
