Brighton v Southampton Premier League betting preview and tips
There’s very little to separate these two teams in the Premier League table just as there are only 67 miles between the two clubs from a geographical point-of-view.
Brighton have three more points on the board having played a game less, although it’s hard to get excited about the Seagulls for this match, with Chris Hughton’s side only just scrambling past Huddersfield in their most recent match at the AMEX Stadium.
Most recently of all, Albion trailed Millwall 2-0 at The Den before a fortuitous comeback which eventually saw the Premier League team get over the line on penalties, although Southampton will head east feeling confident they can get a result from this clash.
With away form of 3-3-9, it’s hard to make a cast-iron case for Southampton winning this match and we prefer getting with them on the Asian Handicap market where it will be money back if the game ends all square.
Even so, the Saints recently came close to landing a draw at Old Trafford before losing 3-2 and further evidence of their strong form came against Tottenham where a rousing comeback saw Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side claim a priceless 2-1 win.
The Austrian will now fell that his team can enjoy a strong finish to the campaign after the international break, with James Ward-Prowse having scored in his past three matches for Southampton and that was something that certainly got him called up to the England senior squad.
There is an issue with a lack of firepower as far as the visitors are concerned although a similar accusation can be levelled at Brighton who rely on Glenn Murray to produce the goods.
We think that the visitors look a shade more dynamic as an attacking force and will therefore side with them to land the victory here.
