Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to win any silverware this season although it still appears that the London side are on course for a successful campaign, with Spurs having made the last eight stage of the Champions League.

While Manchester City are likely to send them packing over two legs according to the latest odds, Tottenham also sit third in the Premier League table and have a three-point gap over fifth-placed Manchester United.

However, it’s not been rosy in Spurs’ garden over the past few weeks, with just one point gained from the previous four top flight encounters and a continuation of this form would seriously jeopardise their continued participation in the Champions League.

On the plus side, this will be the first match played at the new-look White Hart Lane and we’ll enjoy an opening ceremony before a London derby against a Crystal Palace team who can be tricky customers.

The Eagles could yet be involved in a relegation scrap although you might think that a five-point gap over Cardiff in eighteenth is fairly comfortable at this stage of proceedings.

Palace have avoided defeat in the majority of their away games this season and might enjoy the party atmosphere at the new ground. They’ll certainly be looking to serve it up against a team who they knocked out of the FA Cup a few weeks ago.

The Eagles have scored twenty-five times on the road this term and that has included three goals at both Anfield and the Etihad. Therefore, the most logical play has to be on both teams finding the net during the course of the ninety minutes.

Wilfried Zaha is a real box of tricks and Andros Townsend could be inspired against his former club, while Michy Batshuayi is keen to illustrate that he’s a dangerous marksman who could be the subject of interest from several clubs.

It’s hard to see Spurs failing to find the net considering the calibre of players they have in attack and Harry Kane will want to continue making history in a white shirt.
