Tip: Tottenham Win to Nil

Tottenham have settled into the new-look White Hart Lane very well and there’s every reason to believe this will continue when West Ham come to visit.

Team news | League Table | Odds

After clashing twice with Manchester City and then entertaining Brighton, Spurs will look to claim a London derby victory and move closer to a top-four spot and they have so far beaten Manchester City and Crystal Palace without conceding.

Therefore, the obvious bet is to go for the home side to win this match without conceding, especially against opponents for whom motivation levels have taken a dip considering it’s been a typical season of mid-table floundering.

West Ham have been hovering in the middle of the pack since the beginning of the campaign, with Manuel Pellegrini potentially walking away at the end of the season as the Chilean realises that the club is a difficult one to be manager.

The visitors have lost ten times on the road in the Premier League this season and scored less than one goal per away game on average. Marko Arnautovic is their most dangerous marksman although injuries have been a problem and he was close to a move away from the club in January.

Spurs have lost four times at home in the top flight, although they have only conceded thirteen goals in sixteen matches on home soil and most of those encounters were at Wembley Stadium rather than their proper home.

With this in mind, we’re happy to back Tottenham to enjoy a comprehensive win without conceding, especially with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld looking so strong as the Belgian central defensive rearguard.

Mauricio Pochettino saw several fringe players rise to the occasion to thrash Huddersfield 4-0 and this won’t be a game where the team will particularly feel the absence of the injured Harry Kane.
