Group C of the 2018/19 Champions League looks like an absolute belter, with the latest humdinger coming in the form of Paris Saint-Germain against a Napoli side who beat Liverpool 1-0 in their previous European encounter.

Carlo Ancelotti is a wily operator and his decision to field an extra centre-half in the clash against the Reds saw the Merseyside team effectively nullified, with Lorenzo Insigne scoring late in the day to seal the points.

Now Napoli have a tough assignment at the Parc des Princes although it will hold no fear for a team who pushed Juventus close in Serie A last season and appear to be the closest competitors again this term.

PSG won 6-1 against Red Star Belgrade after previously losing 3-2 at Anfield, with Thomas Tuchel hoping that former result kickstarts a run of victories that helps them to qualify for the last sixteen.

Tuchel will be acutely aware that this clash will be far from plain sailing, even if the front three of Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Neymar are irresistible on their day, with the win over Red Star followed by a similarly emphatic 5-0 triumph against Lyon.

It’s been the story of PSG’s season at home but they won’t play an obstinate Napoli team every week and we’re happy to get with the visitors having a 1.5 goal start in this clash.

The Naples team are capable of keeping their opponents at bay and Ancelotti will be fully aware of his opponents after spending a couple of seasons at the French club and being part of the transformation that saw them reach the quarter finals of the Champions League on his watch.
