Chelsea are in the box seat to reach the Europa League semi-finals after a 1-0 win in the Czech Republic, with the Blues having weathered a storm against Slavia Prague before delivering a killer blow at the end of the match.

Maurizio Sarri’s side will now look to get the tie done and dusted at Stamford Bridge, with the London side boasting a formidable record on home soil and they’re likely to prove too strong for a team who will have to go in search of away goals.

Chelsea have only lost once at the Bridge this season, winning ten games and that has included the defeat of Manchester City in December. They have a miserly defence that has only conceded ten times and Slavia would be a struggling side if they played in the English Premier League.

The match prices indicate that Chelsea are not a great bet at massive odds-on, although we can find a different angle to get with the Blues and we might expect Eden Hazard to start the match after the Belgian featured only for the last thirty minutes of the first leg encounter.

N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were also left on the bench along with David Luiz, so there is strength in reserve and the Europa League represents a very real chance for Chelsea to qualify for the Champions League should they miss out on a Premier League top four spot.

While Slavia are top dogs in their native Czech Republic, they were beaten away at Bordeaux and Zenit in the Europa League group stage, with Sevilla having numerous chances to put them away in the last sixteen of the competition.

It could be that the Prague team score at the Bridge, although we’re expecting the wizardry of Hazard to see Chelsea ahead at half-time before getting the job done come the final whistle.
