Napoli v Arsenal Europa League betting preview and tips

Put quite simply, Arsenal are not very good away from home. The Gunners have only managed five triumphs on the road in the Premier League this season and it would seem ludicrous to back them to land a victory in Naples.

The bottom line is that the north London side don’t even need to win against their Serie A opponents to go through. They don’t even need to draw as their 2-0 first leg victory means that they can afford to lose by a single goal and qualify for the semi-finals.

Emery will want his team to find the net in Italy so that Napoli need to score four times, although we can’t pass up the chance to back Carlo Ancelotti’s side to claim a ninety-minute victory even if it might not be enough to get over the line.

Napoli’s form at the Stadio San Paolo has been pretty strong this term. They have won eleven of their sixteen matches in front of their own supporters and have once again demonstrated that they’re the second best team in Italy.

Ancelotti engineered a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the Champions League earlier this term, with the Azzurri also beating Red Bull Salzburg 3-0 in the previous round of the Europa League and they have the attacking players to make it a tricky night for the Gunners.

Lorenzo Insigne is a sharp-shooting forward who appears to be returning to form in front of goal, with Dries Mertens having also been among the goals recently and this is a team who have only shipped twelve goals in sixteen away games domestically.

It might be that we see Napoli win by a 2-0 scoreline which takes the game into extra-time, with Ancelotti a wily operator who will do his level best to steer his team through to the semi-final stage.
