Hearts v Celtic Betting Tips
Celtic might have lost Brendan Rodgers to Leicester City recently, although the Glasgow club are still on the verge of a domestic treble in Scotland, with Neil Lennon bidding to end his caretaker stint by landing the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park on 25 May.
As you might expect, the champions of Scotland are overwhelming favourites to beat their Edinburgh opponents, with Celtic having beaten the same team to win the League Cup earlier this season and that was a facile 3-0 victory.
Previously to this, Hearts had stunned Rodgers’ team with a 1-0 win at Tynecastle, although normal order has since been restored and Celtic dished out a 5-0 thrashing before a slender 2-1 win in the Scottish capital in February.
Lennon’s team did recently lose 2-0 at Ibrox to illustrate that they aren’t invincible north of the border, although that result was preceded by a twelve match unbeaten run and there’s little doubt that they boast the superior players.
Odsonne Edouard has scored twenty-one goals in all competitions this season, while Scott Brown and Tom Rogic continue to propel the team forward in midfield and there’s an air of inevitability about Celtic winning this one.
As for Hearts, they can play the role of underdogs and look to cause a surprise, using that 1-0 win in August as a potential blueprint for success. Craig Levein’s side sit sixth in the Scottish Premier League table although six defeats in the past nine games doesn’t inspire confidence.
We’re going for at least three goals to be scored. Whether they’re scored exclusively by the treble hunters or whether Hearts manage to get on the scoresheet, we’re happy to go with this option.
