Norway Women v England Women Betting Tips
The 2019 Women’s World Cup has reached the quarter final stage, with England among the final eight teams and Phil Neville’s team are strong favourites to beat Norway and book their place in the semi-final.
The Lionesses topped their group with maximum points and subsequently went on to beat Cameroon in a one-sided last sixteen encounter which saw the African side lose their discipline against a team who ultimately had too much quality in their ranks.
England Women should find life a lot tougher against a Norway side who came through the last sixteen after triumphing on penalties against Australia, with the Nordic side having dominates against the Matildas for most of the 120 minutes of play.
England have an injury concern over Steph Houghton after the captain was on the receiving end of a bad challenge against Cameroon, although there is real squad depth available and Manchester City’s Jill Scott has been especially outstanding in the midfield engine room.
Ellen White has been the form striker and the City forward has four goals on the board already, while Karen Bardsley is the preferred option between the sticks. Lucy Bronze’s marauding runs have caught the eye along with her link-up play with Nikita Parris.
As for the Norwegians, they are not without a chance in this game and comfortably won two group stage games against Nigeria and South Korea, while there wasn’t much between them and France before they lost 2-1 to the hosts.
However, pre-World Cup form wasn’t particularly convincing and the squad’s players mostly operate domestically in the Norwegian league which isn’t to the same strength as its English counterpart.
We’re plumping for England to land a victory in this game and continue their 100% record, with options from the bench potentially coming into play here.
