Cash games
In DFS cash games, 50% of the participants normally win the same cash prize. For example, in a game with 200 participants, those who finish in the first 100 positions will win a fair share of the cash prize. Cash games are more flexible since you don’t need to finish at the top to get a share of the prize.
Guaranteed prize pools (GPP)
Things are a little different in GPP DFS games. In these games, only the participants in the very top positions at the end of the contest win the bigger chunk of the prize. Snake draft contests
In snake draft contests, the pattern of how participants pick players for their teams is interchanged with each round. So, during the first round of choosing players, the first member of the contest picks players for their team first. In the next round, the last member of the contest picks players for their team first. The pattern continues until everyone has filled up the spots in their lineups.
Pick’em contests

When it comes to salary cap contests, don’t shy away from reaching the limit. Go ahead and pick players you know will boost your team until you reach the salary cap.
Don’t shy away from stacking
This is another one of the go-to drafting strategies in DFS, and this is for a good reason. Stacking typically involves picking several players from the same real-life team to be part of your lineup.
As a daily fantasy sports player, I am a firm believer that players from the same league usually have a huge influence on each other’s performance. So, if I see a stellar player on the list in a particular contest, I’ll pick that player and one or two of their teammates for my fantasy team. That way, I have likely increased my chances of scoring more points. This is because if the big-shot player performs well in the game, the other players will most likely do well.
