I have been using FanDuel Predicts for a while now and was impressed with the site. Since there have been some new updates on the platform, I thought it was time for an updated FanDuel Predicts review.
This review will walk you through the prediction trading experience, from the different types of prediction contracts to my thoughts on the mobile apps and the customer service. Come tag along to get the scoop, plus see how you can get started with an exclusive $25 prediction trading welcome reward when you sign up using the banners on this page.
When I compiled my Underdog Predict review, I shared how prediction markets are permitted in the US. If you did not know, FanDuel Predicts is a legitimate prediction market site that is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). FanDuel Predicts operates as a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and is a member of the National Futures Association (NFA). Since FanDuel Predicts is CFTC-regulated, it is permitted to operate federally in 0 US states.
When the site first entered the scene, the prediction contracts offered were provided by its partner, the CME Group, a regulated derivatives exchange. In recent times, FanDuel Predicts has also partnered with Crypto.com and OG, thus giving the prediction site access to even more future event prediction contracts (more on that later).
Now that you know the legal background, how about some details on the safety features? From my research on the platform, I was pleased to find that FanDuel Predicts is safe to use, and there are advanced security measures to safeguard all prediction traders. These safety features include password-protected accounts, KYC checks, an encrypted banking platform, and access to responsible prediction trading tools, such as deposit limits.
If you have been using prediction market sites, you would know that not many platforms have exclusive prediction trading welcome bonuses for newcomers. However, FanDuel Predicts does have an exclusive welcome offer, and once you create a new account using the banners on this page, you can score a $25 prediction trading reward.
Just remember that there are a few T&Cs, and you first need to make a deposit and place a real-money prediction trade on any future event prediction market before you can trigger the $25 bonus. The nice thing about this offer is that you will trigger the reward regardless of the outcome of your qualifying prediction trade.
If you need more details about this welcome bonus, then head over to my FanDuel Predicts promo code review, as I have shared a comprehensive guide on how to claim and use your welcome offer. I have also provided you with some tips to maximize the prediction trading experience on the site, so make sure you read my bonus review to get a head start on your journey.
Besides the sign-up promo, from time to time there are also several existing prediction trader promotions as well. There used to be a $50 match bonus, but that promo is no longer active. At the time of writing this review, there is an active referral bonus, so you can bring your buddies to the site and score a $20 prediction trade credit.
Claiming this offer is seamless, and you can copy and share your unique referral link with your friends. Once they sign up using your link and make a qualifying $5 real money prediction trade on any future event prediction contract, you will receive a $20 referral bonus. Just a heads up: you will only be allowed to claim up to $100 in referral bonuses every 30 days, so this means that you can refer five friends over the course of a month.
Before you can tuck into the welcome offer or share your referral link with your friends, you first need to create a prediction trading account. The good news is that the registration process follows the same steps as the one I shared in my PrizePicks Predict review, and there is no need for any FanDuel Predicts promo codes. To give you a helping hand, below is a step-by-step guide on how to create a new account on the platform:
If you are 18+ and reside in the US, you can use the links or banners on this page to access the FanDuel Predicts website.
Since prediction trading can only be done via the mobile app, you must scan the QR code to download the official Android or iOS app.
Once the app is downloaded and installed, enter your email address and create a password.
Complete the requisition form by entering your personal details and thereafter read and accept the terms and conditions.
Verify your registration, and once your account is created, you can then make your first deposit and make a prediction trade to trigger the $25 welcome reward.
While it may take a while to come to grips with prediction trading, once you understand the fundamentals, things should become easier. You should remember that FanDuel Predicts is not like the FanDuel sportsbook; there is no betting or odds. Instead, the platform allows you to make prediction trades in binary (Yes or No), on the outcome of real-world events.
FanDuel Predicts does not set its own prices; the value of every prediction contract is based on the number of prediction trades other individuals make about the likelihood of a specific event occurring. The higher the price, the more likely that the prediction traders believe that a specific outcome will occur.
Since all prediction trades are binary, you will find prediction contract prices ranging from $0.01 to $0.99, with winning prediction positions settling at $1, while losing outcomes close at $0. FanDuel Predicts also uses a multiplier display rather than probabilities, but you can change the price display if you prefer.
As with other sites, since it is a peer-to-peer exchange, you can also close your prediction positions early to lock in profits or mitigate losses. Generally, this is done by other prediction traders buying the prediction contract that you are selling.
However, on FanDuel Predicts, select prediction positions have a ‘cash out’ option, which is auto-generated based on the latest market data, so you can easily close your prediction contracts early, even before the specific real-world event is completed.
Thanks to its joint venture with the CME Group, when FanDuel Predicts first launched, there were four main future event prediction contract types: sports results (select states only), financial projections, economic indicators, and commodity predictions.
However, thanks to the recent partnership with Crypto.com and OG, more types of future events are available for prediction trading, so you can now buy and sell prediction positions for climate forecasts, crypto projections, pop culture results, and political outcomes.
Each of these future event prediction markets has high market volumes and liquidity, and below are examples of the main types of future event prediction contracts you will find on the platform:
If you need help understanding how to read market prices as probabilities on FanDuel Predicts, I have shared an example below of a sports futures prediction contract:
Let’s say that the Philadelphia Eagles are $0.75 to beat the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 15 clash in the NFL. If you want to purchase $100 of Yes prediction contracts on the Eagles to win, you will receive 133.33 prediction contracts ($100/0.75).
If the Eagles win the game, you will receive $133.33, less a 2% payout fee. This fee is automatically applied to winning prediction positions, even for those options that have used the ‘cash out’ feature to close prediction contracts early. However, if the Cowboys defeat their rivals, your prediction position will close at $0, and you will lose your $100 investment.
If your prediction trade wins, then your winnings are sent to your ‘pending payouts’ balance for processing. While it is still pending, you can use those funds to make additional prediction trades; otherwise, you can wait for those ‘pending payouts’ to be available for withdrawals.
As covered in other FanDuel Predicts reviews, you cannot use the desktop website to actually buy and sell future event prediction positions. You should think of the desktop website as an informational hub, as there are plenty of guides to read to understand how prediction trading works on the platform. Don’t forget, it is important that you read these guides so you can have a pleasant time on the site.
I liked that the desktop website is easy to navigate and the blue and white FanDuel colors are well represented. Everything you need on the desktop site is there, including the how-to guides and details on the regulatory information. If it is your first time accessing the desktop website, you should not have any issues, and all pages load quickly and are clutter-free.
A nice touch when accessing the site using your PC or laptop is that there is a shortcut on the homepage to scan the QR code and download the dedicated mobile apps, so this saves you time from going and searching for the apps from the relevant App Stores.
By now, you should know that all prediction trading is done via the FanDuel Predicts Android and iOS apps. Thus, you cannot buy and sell prediction positions on the mobile website. While there is a mobile-optimized website, this is mirrored to the desktop version and is also used as an informational hub.
Both the Android and iOS apps require little storage space and are around 90 MB to download. Once you scan the QR code, you will be redirected to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Thereafter, you should download the apps, and then you can create a new account, claim bonuses and make future event prediction trades.
Both dedicated apps mirror each other, so you will not miss out on any specific feature. I enjoyed using the mobile apps, and everything is optimized for smaller devices. There are several banners that make it easy to find what you are looking for, and it is easy to track price changes for any future event prediction markets.
A bit of advice, though: you need to ensure that you have a stable internet connection when making prediction trades on the go. If your internet connection is not strong, then the loading times could take several minutes; thus, it may not be an enjoyable prediction trading experience.
The banking platform on FanDuel Predicts is similar to the one I discussed in my DraftKings Predict review. Thanks to the encrypted banking platform, you should not have any concerns when funding your account or making withdrawals.
At the time of writing, you cannot use credit cards on the platform, but the available payment methods include debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay and Google Pay. There are no non-trading fees, such as deposit fees, and as soon as your payment is processed, the funds should reflect in your prediction trading account.
Per the terms and conditions, you will not be allowed to withdraw your winnings unless you have submitted your KYC documents (proof of ID and address) for account verification. Once these documents have been submitted and approved, you can withdraw potential prediction trade winnings after the ‘pending payout’ clearance. Currently, the accepted withdrawal methods include debit cards and bank transfers. From my experience, the average withdrawal time on the platform is between three and five days, which is on par with most prediction sites.
While there are no withdrawal fees, remember that there is a 2% payout fee for correct prediction trades, so it is important that you factor this in when calculating your returns. Another interesting feature with the withdrawals is the ‘pending payouts’ mechanic, and as shared already, for every winning prediction trade, you have to wait for these funds to be processed and cleared before making a withdrawal, which usually takes between 24 and 48 hours.
I scored top marks with my FanDuel Predicts ratings for the customer service, as the agents were friendly and provided speedy, accurate feedback. If you need to get in touch with the team, you can use the live chat, email the team, or follow the site’s official social media channels.
However, before contacting the team, you should browse the FAQ page. There are several areas covered with the FAQs, so you could get your queries answered before speaking to an agent. If you still need to contact an agent, the live chat should be your first option. While you will first interact with an AI chatbot, you can ask to be transferred to a human agent. It only takes a few minutes to connect with an agent, and the agents provide detailed feedback.
If you have more in-depth questions, it is best to email the team. I preferred to use email for detailed queries because I could attach any supporting documents. From my experience, it can take several hours for a response via email, but like the live chat, the agents provide accurate information and are friendly. Finally, there is also social media, and you should follow the official X account, as besides sharing the latest bonus offers, the social media team also responds to questions about prediction trading.
I have come to the end of my FanDuel Predicts review, and the main takeaway is that the platform ticks all the right boxes for prediction traders. There have been significant updates since FanDuel Predicts first entered the prediction market scene, and now you have access to even more future event prediction markets, including sports outcomes, culture results, commodity projections and economic indicators.
However, remember that while all of these future event prediction contracts are available in most US states, you cannot buy and sell sports prediction positions in states where traditional sportsbooks are legal, such as Pennsylvania and Kansas.
When it comes to the bonuses and promos, I liked that the site caters to newcomers, and there is an exclusive prediction trading sign up promo. Of course, I would like to see more existing prediction trader promos, but the referral bonus is a nice option for now. Finally, making prediction trades on the go is seamless thanks to the dedicated Android and iOS apps, and since the apps mirror each other, no one will miss out on anything!
Before I go, if you would like to give FanDuel Predicts a go and rate the platform for yourself, you need to create a new account. To do so, feel free to use the links or banners on this page, and after creating a new account and making a qualifying prediction trade, you will trigger an exclusive $25 prediction trade credit.
