A shiny new prediction market site hit the scene in June, and traders have been raving about it. We signed up to see what the fuss was about and have put together this ROLR review to give you the lowdown.
Like other reputable prediction market platforms, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulates ROLR. Once we found this out, it put us at ease and allowed us to dig deeper without worrying about infractions. For a recently launched platform, there's already a lot happening, so we'll take it slowly and unravel it all as we go along.
ROLR is a prediction market site that lets you make predictions on the outcomes of real-world events. Just like similar prediction platforms, the event contracts are presented as questions with “yes” and “no” alternatives. Depending on how you think the event will unfold, you're allowed to pick either option and lock in your trade. The setup on ROLR is a bit unique for now, however, and is unlike what we covered in our Coinbase review.
Currently, ROLR is undergoing a phased release that seems to be divided into two parts. The first part, which is what we're witnessing now, will last for 8 weeks from June to August. During this period, a Prediction Trade Challenge will run concurrently, and only ROLR Credits (RC) can be used in place of real money. These credits are also the only currency you can use to trade event contracts, but how would you get them? Well, let's explain more clearly below:
So we're calling the 8-week period a demo phase because that's exactly how it looks. You register an account on the website, but you can't use real money nor buy and sell event contracts with USD. Instead, you are given free ROLR credits, which you can get from the following:
As you've probably noticed, you're not mandated to actually top-up your balance to enjoy any of these freebies. And to make it better, you can use the credits to purchase contracts and trade them in the same way you would with USD.
Again, we've given this period a moniker that fits what we've researched is going to start happening. From our checks, actual trading is expected to begin after August 12, 2026, which is when the Prediction Trade Challenge will conclude. At this point, we expect that event traders can start making real-money purchases and payouts while also buying and selling actual contracts on ROLR markets.
However, if you're still looking for practical answers to “how does ROLR work?”, here's an actual example we came across. So the World Cup is almost at its end, and the biggest predictions fans are making are on who will win between Spain and Argentina. These are the current pricings available:
From what's shown above, regardless of the team (or event) you want to predict, there are always “yes” and “no” choices. If you think Argentina will win, you can purchase a “yes” contract, which is priced at 41.7¢ (or $0.42) in this case. You're also allowed to purchase as many contracts as you want, so if you go for 100, that's a total of $42.
If Argentina actually wins at the end of the competition, everyone (including you) who bought “yes” contracts will then be paid $1 per contract. Those who went for the “no” choice will see their contracts settling at $0, meaning they'll make no profit. Now it's important to understand that the “yes” and “no” prices shown above will fluctuate throughout the time the event remains live.
This happens because market forces react to real-world updates and trends that affect the outcomes. Examples include injuries to star players, formation changes, or just an altered perception of how the event is expected to resolve. If, for instance, the $0.42 contract you initially purchased remains the final price when Argentina wins, your profit would be $0.58 ($1 - $0.42). For 100 contracts, the total profit will be $58.
Even after discovering that ROLR is being overseen by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), we went ahead to do some more investigations. Our findings have revealed that the ROLR brand is owned and operated by ROLR US LLC. This company is registered and incorporated in Delaware, which adds some more credibility to the platform's legitimacy.
Although the CFTC provides federal oversight over the ROLR markets, individual state regulations often differ. At the time of this ROLR review, a total of nine states are restricted from accessing the website. These are Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming. If you're currently living in one of these locations, you'll have to be patient until changes are made, if at all.
For those residing in the approved states, ROLR has a minimum entry age barrier of 18 years. Some jurisdictions may have higher age thresholds, and in such a case, the latter will apply. In terms of security, the website uses modern encryption technology to keep your account safe from unauthorized third parties. A two-factor authentication (2FA) option is also available for additional account security.
As of now, no mandatory KYC checks are in place, which is likely because the platform is still in its free-play phase. However, we found that all finalists from the 8-week Prediction Trade Challenge will be made to undergo KYC verification before entering the final contest to prevent fraud. Following, it's very likely that the system will continue for all registered traders who continue to use the website.
New users who register on the ROLR platform aren't offered a welcome bonus, at least not in the traditional way. Remember we mentioned that the brand is currently in a demo phase, so there isn't any actual trading going on that would require a typical bonus. However, as a newcomer, you'll get 1,000 free ROLR credits, which is the virtual currency that lets you participate in the Prediction Trade Challenge.
Instead of a welcome offer that's similar to the Coinbase promo, ROLR features a Trade Challenge that runs throughout the 8-week demo period. The grand prize is $25,000,000, and to be honest, it's the most lucrative promotion we've ever come across on prediction market sites. But that's not all that's on offer here. Here's an outline of all six prize tiers throughout the season to keep the momentum going:
| Category | Prize | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Grand prize | $25,000,000 | Awarded only to one winner who answers all seven grand prize questions correctly. |
| Season champion | $75,000 | If no one wins the grand prize, then the participant in the top leaderboard position for the whole season is crowned the season champion. |
| Master referrer | $1,000 weekly $5,000 monthly | Awarded to the participants who have the most qualified referrals each week and each month. |
| Monthly champion | $5,000 | Awarded to the account that tops the table at the end of each month. |
| Weekly top predictor | $1,000 | Awarded to event traders that have best performance every week. |
| Daily leader | 500 credits | Awarded to those who accumulate the biggest gains in account value every single day. |
Now that you know exactly what you stand to win, here's a simple guide on how to participate:
After receiving your 1,000 ROLR credits post registration, head to the prediction markets and purchase contracts.
For every settled market prediction, you'll be rewarded with prediction points. The better your edge, the more points you'll accumulate.
As your prediction points increase, your leaderboard positions (daily, weekly, monthly, and season) also rise in tandem. At each new tier, you'll unlock special cash prizes and credits.
Reach the final week, where a perfect entry of seven correct answers will win you the grand prize. No ROLR promo code is needed, and no real-money purchases need to be made to get on this stage.
Unfortunately, there aren't any additional promotions on the ROLR website for demo contract trading. However, we believe that when the Prediction Trade Challenge is complete, more perks (and maybe even a VIP program) will be introduced to keep users coming back. But until then, we recommend you take full advantage of the ongoing challenge to explore all available ROLR markets.
During our reviews of the prediction markets at ROLR, we found nine major categories. Some of those featured here are similar to what's covered in our Moomoo review, but there are some more unique ones as well. The full list of verticals include sports, crypto, politics, finance, economics, science and weather, tech and AI, culture, and eSports. We've picked just six of these to focus on, as they often get the most volume of trades.
The sports category is one of the busiest on the ROLR platform. Aside from international competitions, dozens of other tournaments across major leagues are covered. We also noticed that for each sports discipline, the prediction markets are usually categorized into “Games” and “Props”. We've put together a short outline of some featured sports below, alongside several leagues you can make predictions on:
We found over 50 different markets in the politics category, which puts it on the list of most traded events at ROLR. Much of the focus is on international and US election outcomes, nuclear deals, political tensions, and more. There are also a lot of markets covering the possibility of Elon Musk tweeting at certain dates. Some of the top trending markets we came across are:
With an average of 30+ markets to choose from, the culture category comes very close to being one of the top-visited by US traders. The reason for this is quite obvious, as this is where you'll find events about movies, music, awards, and TV shows. Among the most popular markets, some really intriguing ones include:
Many prediction market platforms that feature crypto events often offer them in dozens. At ROLR, we couldn't be more impressed, as the total number of markets at the time we visited was well over 3,000. The main cryptocurrencies that are available are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Ripple (XRP). So what type of events are often covered? Well, here are a few top trending ones:
The category for economics is probably the smallest in terms of featured markets. However, trading volume is usually on the high side, as both international and local updates are found on the platform. Several interesting markets that you might want to participate in are:
Most of the weather predictions at ROLR are clearly for the international scene. We counted at least 100 different markets across various topics surrounding temperatures, natural disasters, and more. Like other categories, you get a question followed by “yes” and “no” choices, and you just make your pick based on the data you have before you. Some of the common markets available here are:
Our ROLR review also involved testing how easy it was to use the website on desktops and mobile devices. For now, the brand doesn't have a dedicated application for Android and iOS, which we suspect might be because it's not yet a live USD contract trading platform. You'll only be able to visit the site on browsers to participate in the Prediction Trade Challenge and carry out demo trades using ROLR credits.
What's impressive, though, is how simplified the website's design is on mobile and PC. It uses a default “light” theme, which features a white background with purple accents and black fonts that make reading easy. If you want to switch to a dark theme and get a black-colored background, you can do that easily as well by just scrolling to the bottom and tapping “Theme”.
After signing in, your balance is located at the upper right next to the profile icon. Just below that, the featured market categories are listed horizontally, starting with “All”, “Curated”, and then “Sports” and so on from left to right. The loading and navigation speeds are very impressive as well. We could quickly switch between general categories and mini-markets without experiencing lags or slow rendering.
The only thing is that we expect to see some improvements with the addition of sub-categories for some main prediction categories. For example, the sports section has options for different sports and even tournaments under each sport type. But the crypto section doesn't have any sub-categories for the different cryptocurrencies that are available. Although we don't quite consider this a major setback, the overall user experience can improve if this is included.
Opening a new ROLR account takes less than 3 minutes and is a pretty straightforward process. Remember, there's no app, so everything you'll be doing on the platform has to be from a PC or smartphone. Our step-by-step guide below details the registration steps on how to get started:
Load up the official ROLR website by clicking the banner on this page.
At the top of the homepage, tap the blue-colored “Sign Up' button.
Choose whether to register with your Google account or an email.
For email registration, enter the address followed by a password, and then create a username.
Verify your new account by entering the verification code that will be sent to you via email. You can receive this by checking your inbox or spam folder.
Once you've done that, you'll be logged in automatically, and you can now start trading contracts.
It's important to ensure that all the information you've provided during registration is completely accurate. The brand might still be in its free-play mode, but once the transition is made to actual real-money trading, your current account will likely need to undergo strict KYC verification.
Given the current setup of the ROLR platform, no real-money purchases are required to trade event contracts. So for now, no banking methods have been incorporated, as there's still no dedicated cashier page. However, our presumption is that once the platform officially goes live, then options such as credit/debit cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, and even crypto may become available.
That said, we read through the site's T&Cs during our ROLR review and discovered that prizes from the challenge are sent via wire transfer or ACH. This, of course, suggests that these options will be included in the cashier. Finalists from the ongoing contest will have to verify their identity before receiving their prizes. According to the promotion terms, you'll have until July 31, 2026, to complete this process if you're a finalist.
Unfortunately, ROLR does not currently have a live support option, which is often the most reliable customer service channel on prediction market platforms. Our assumption is that this might have to do with the fact that they're not fully live yet, but still, we expected some sort of support availability for those with questions. There's an FAQ page, however, which you'll find among the list of quick links at the footer of the website.
Most of the information here is mainly regarding the Prediction Trade Challenge. Meaning, you won't be getting any help with technical issues, forgotten passwords, or general complaints. After some more extensive checks, we found an email address that you can at least use for official correspondence with the support team. From our experience, responses to messages often come in within 24 hours from the time you send them. It's not the fastest, but it's all you'll be getting for now.
We must admit that the current setup of ROLR gives it a very unique feel compared to other prediction market sites. Although there are similarities in the way event contracts are traded in “yes” and “no” fashion, the free-to-trade approach is completely different. The Prediction Trade Challenge, which is the biggest highlight of ROLR, is enough motivation to get traders interested.
With $25,000,000 up for grabs and no payments required to participate, this is basically a “unicorn” situation. Behind the promotional surface, however, ROLR is likely to be a serious platform once real-money contract trading begins. When that time comes, we'll make adjustments to certain areas of this ROLR review by updating with the latest information. But for now, you can get in and start competing for your share of the prizes by clicking the on-page banners to register today.
