How do the virtual currencies work?
As you likely already know, you do not play with real money at sweepstakes casinos. Virtual currencies are used instead — typically Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC), though some operators choose to rename Sweeps Coins. A third virtual currency is added into the mix for some extra excitement, as is the case with Dorados.
Gold Coins
GC are used to play the online casino-style games available on the platform. These virtual currencies hold no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for real prizes. Their sole purpose is entertainment. You can collect GC through bonuses and other promotions, or you can make an optional GC bundle purchase that usually comes with bonus Gems.
Gems
Gems are Dorados’ version of SC and work in much the same way. You collect Gems through bonuses, rewards, games, and promotions, but they cannot ever be purchased. If you meet the platform’s minimum redemption limit of 50 Gems and playthrough requirements, you can redeem your eligible Gems for real prizes.
Elixir
Unique to Dorados, Elixir is the third virtual currency that can be used to play the “Lost City” slot game or you can exchange it for free spins or to have a go on the claw machine.

Other Dorados bonuses and promotions you can opt in
Once you’ve claimed your welcome bonus, don’t fret. There are plenty more ways to collect more virtual currency at Dorados. While you won’t find a Dorados no deposit bonus anywhere as the platform operates under a sweepstakes model, you will find the following:
| Bonus/ Promotion | Amount | How to claim |
|---|---|---|
| Daily log-in bonus | 1 Elixir | Simply log in to your account each day |
| Lost City challenges | Varying amounts of virtual currency | Complete daily and weekly in-game challenges |
| Mail-in (AMOE) | 2 Gems to 4 Gems | Send in a physical, hand-written postal request card |
| Wheel of Gold | 600 GC to 100,000 GC | Play through 100,000 GC for a free spin |
| Monthly Race | Share of 2,500 Gem prize pool | Play as much as possible each month to get to top of leaderboard |
As you can see, it doesn’t stop at a Dorados daily login bonus; there are plenty of other ways to build up your virtual currency balance. Alternatively, if you’re willing to make a purchase, you can benefit from a generous first purchase bonus of 250,000 GC, 25 bonus Gems, 1 Elixir, and 1 claw machine prize when you spend $9.99. That’s a 150% boost!
