For the last few weeks I’ve been using the global DragonBet sportsbook and casino to see what it offers for the average customer and I’ve been hugely impressed with its diverse sports betting setup.
As you’ll see in the below DragonBet review though, the online casino is also packed with notable games from top developers, and it has all the features I expect from a top gambling brand. If you read on, I’ll not only discuss the sportsbook and casino, but I’ll go over these other features in more detail.
My first port of call for this DragonBet review was to make sure the underlying brand was legit. I did this by checking things like its gambling license and security practices.
DragonBet operates under UK Gambling Commission license number 64908. It is a legitimate brand, and nothing I saw changed my opinion on that. It also has decent transparency about its operations - it is owned by DragonBet Limited, which is a company registered in Cardiff, Wales. In addition to the UKGC license, they have a Remote Bookmaker’s License in Ireland which is license number 1022506.
For support, I mainly used the live chat. You start by speaking to an AI chabot, just like I did in my Pricedup review, but there is the option to speak to humans. I found both the AI and human support helpful, and they were quickly able to resolve the queries I had. Email support should be available too, and there is an FAQ section which explains the basics about the site.
I had no problems or concerns about the site security - SSL encryption is used for all data transfers, and when I created this DragonBet review, they had an active SSL certificate from Google Trust Services. There is also a decent responsible gambling setup, with self-help links and advice on most pages, plus responsible gambling tools that you can use to help keep your gambling fun.
I was able to make deposits and withdrawals using Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay, and Maestro. Please be aware though that this is a global sportsbook and casino, so you might see different payment methods. Generally, I found the payment processes to be smooth, secure, and easy to complete. My deposits were also processed instantly, and I was typically waiting 1-3 business days for withdrawals which is OK, but could be improved.
So, the brand is legit, and I could continue my DragonBet review with confidence. Next up, it was time to check out the sportsbook, and to start, I found the following supported sports:
American football, Aussie rules, baseball, basketball, boxing, cricket, cycling, darts, football, Formula One, Gaelic football, Gaelic hurling, golf, greyhounds, horse racing, MMA, motor sport, politics, rugby, snooker, tennis, volleyball.
This is a pretty decent list, and not too dissimilar to the sports I found when making my Betsuna review. You’ve basically got all the popular options, plus a load of niche sports. They go further than this though, and the different sports have great coverage for the different leagues and events. For example, with basketball, I was able to bet on the following events:
So, there’s something for everyone, and this diversity of betting markets continues for all the sports. They also do a solid job of giving you plenty of betting variety - there’s pre-match and in-play betting, plus an impressive selection of team and player proposition bets for most individual matches, plus some selected future bets such as end of season awards and overall competition winners.
DragonBet also has a well-equipped online casino, much like the setup I found in my Winna review. I was impressed with the overall diversity of games, the searchability of the library, and especially the live dealer collection.
DragonBet features thousands of casino games, and a large portion of these are video slots. They work with a selection of top developers such as NetEnt, Pragmatic, Playson, Hacksaw, and BGaming, and they cover most of the main slot mechanics I like to see, such as Megaways, tumbling reels, Bonus Buy, and Hold and Win bonus rounds. As you’ll see below, I enjoyed the Pragmatic slots, and after that, I spent a lot of time with the classics from Hacksaw like Wanted Dead or a Wild and Ze Zeus.
While DragonBet excels at video slots, it also does an awesome job with its live dealer setup. These are mainly provided by Pragmatic Play, and included the following:
I found many different blackjack tables with various play limits, and I also had fun with Big Bass Crash and Spaceman, which are two of my favorite live crash games of all time. There are some game shows too, such as Sweet Bonanza Candyland and Money Time.
I’ve been a Pragmatic Play fan for a long time, so I was happy to see 200+ titles featured from this developer at DragonBet. This time though for my DragonBet review, I stayed away from the common classics like Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza. Instead, I tested a range of lesser-known Pragmatic games, and I had a blast! The following were some notable picks worth trying:
| Game | RTP | Volatility | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steamin’ Reels | 96.53% | High | Railways, Steampunk |
| Launch to Riches | 96.52% | Medium-High | Space, the Universe |
| Big Bass Return to the Races | 96.07% | Medium | Big Bass fishing series |
| Congo Cash | 96.51% | Medium | Jungle, Adventure |
With my Vegasnova review, I found a solid desktop website that was easy to use, and I can report the same with DragonBet. I think the theme is meant to relate to Welsh mythology and dragons, and while it isn’t particularly inspiring, I do like the red, black, and white color scheme - it makes for great text readability.
The desktop website also has excellent usability and a dual menu setup. Along the top, you’ve got a horizontal menu that has links to the main sections of the site, i.e. the casino, live casino, sportsbook, and in-play betting. Then, depending on which of these menus you have highlighted, the left-hand side menu will change appropriately. For instance, with the sportsbook selected, you get a list of the sport categories.
It’s just logical and easy to use, and I also found the site to be technically advanced - the loading speeds are great, there’s no missing content, and all the features like customer support and banking work fine.
There are two DragonBet mobile apps, and before downloading them myself, I checked out reviews from other customers. The Google Play Store version has only a 2.9 star rating and some scathing comments - people complaining about withdrawal times etc. I took these reviews on board, but I also tried the app for myself with an open mind.
I got on really well with the Android version - from a usability perspective it’s great and it works just as well as the desktop site. In terms of withdrawal processing - I didn’t really see any issues either. Ultimately, the processing time will depend on which withdrawal method you use, but for me, the average was 1-3 business days which is acceptable.
Now, I’ve made an alternative DragonBet bonus review that you can check out if you wish, and in that guide I go into more detail about the potential promos. The main thing to remember here though, is that it’s a global online sportsbook and casino. This means that the bonus features I see could be completely different to the ones you have access to.
With that in mind, the simplest thing you can do is look at the banners on this page to see what is on offer.
My DragonBet review uncovered a simple truth - that it’s a well-equipped, legitimate online sportsbook and casino with a lot to offer. In terms of pure entertainment value, I think customers will be impressed with the sports betting selection, and the fantastic casino game library. These things are complemented by the usability of the site, and the other core features that work together to give you a satisfying gambling experience.
Withdrawals could perhaps be a little faster, and the customer reviews of the mobile apps definitely need improving, but other than that, I would recommend this brand straight away. All that’s left now is to try it out for yourself and you can do that by clicking any of the DragonBet banners on this page.
