With the rise of mystery box sites and other online gaming platforms, it’s common to find the same old stuff over and over again. That’s why I had to do a double take when I first came across MrLoot.
In this MrLoot review, I’m going to share my experience with this fun and oddly exciting entry to the online gaming circuit. As someone who enjoys playing online games and getting excited about the possibilities of collecting rewards from them, I just had to take a look at this seemingly unique premise with its cool design and interesting offers.

MrLoot is an online mystery box store where players purchase what are called ‘WinBoxes’ without knowing precisely what’s inside. These boxes are purchased using MrLoot’s own virtual currency called ‘Looties’, which are acquired through purchase, specific bonuses, promo codes, or from WinBoxes themselves.
These boxes come in a variety of categories, and can provide you with a huge host of potential rewards. These include both virtual and physical prizes, which can be redeemed, sold back, or shipped directly to you if you find yourself receiving a physical prize that you want to keep.
If you’ve played modern AAA games in the last few years, then you’ll know that MrLoot is pretty aptly named, as it does offer what are effectively loot boxes. But the similarity effectively ends at the name. Where loot boxes are typically blind chance or sorted into vague value-based categories at most, MrLoot instead allowed me to zero in on my own interests to maximize the chance of getting something I’d actually be interested in.
This is where it really got my attention, as the categories are very clearly defined. I was able to pick MrLoot packs from six themes; Geek, Fashion, Tech, Luxury, Gaming, and Pokémon. Personally, I don’t really know why Pokémon specifically has its own category, but as a fan of the franchise I’m not exactly complaining…
Across these themes there are over 1,200 boxes overall, though there is one important difference depending on where you’re playing. As well as physical and digital prizes, European players also have the chance to acquire crypto mining prizes, which are not available for purchase for anyone playing within the U.S.
As of writing, MrLoot does not have any kind of mobile app, but the site itself is optimized well for both browsers and mobile devices. I tried both, and found MrLoot to be an easy and streamlined experience no matter which device I was using.
I’m a fan of darker themes, and often find many gaming websites to be too flashy and ostentatious. I’m a writer, so I spend a fair amount of my day looking at bright screens, which would explain why MrLoot’s darker themes of black, navy, and calming blue appealed to me on an aesthetic level before I’d even had the chance to read a word.
The left of the screen showed the available categories of WinBoxes available to me, and their additional information such as FAQs, Terms and Conditions, and adherence to both fair and legal practices really made me feel like I knew what I was getting into before I’d even entered my name.
All-in-all, I liked what I saw, and was interested to continue. But if this still isn’t grabbing you like it did me, then you can also check out our Hypedrop review for more lootbox options.
Depending on the category you choose, the potential prizes range in value from a rather large variety. For example, the Pokémon category offered me the possibility of getting either individual common cards and booster packs, and also the rarer chance of incredibly rare and valuable cards (like those described in our Crown Rips review), or collectibles like tins.
These card rips in particular were a nostalgia trip for me, calling back to when I was a kid spending my allowance on booster packs. While not quite as immediately rewarding, it was still a fun thrill wondering what I could get!
If you’re largely in it for the cards, then you can also check out our Clutchpacks review to see what else you can get.
In fashion, the mystery boxes contain anything from plastic bracelets to high-end jewelry and watches. On the rarer end of Luxury, you can find yourself nabbing experiences such as expenses-paid vacations in these mystery boxes.
So the range is pretty wide, and the variety you can find yourself netting is broad, but that’s what keeps it fun. Also, any mystery box I opened that contained Looties was instantly added to my account, so I could go ahead and use them right away!
The full scope of potential prizes from MrLoot rips would be far too long to list here, but I can say that it’s a truly staggering array.
As an introductory welcome bonus, I was greeted with 3 WinBoxes to open right from the get-go. Any new user can claim these boxes as long as they verify their account and prove they’re over 18.
This is small potatoes, though, as you can get an introductory bonus of 13 more WinBoxes with your first purchase, should you choose to purchase them. Alternatively, you can hope for the potential outcome that one of your initial 3 WinBoxes contains enough Looties to open more, which can start a bit of a landslide…
As well as this welcome bonus, you can take advantage of daily free spins. Every 24 hours, you can spin the MrLoot prize wheel for a chance to acquire extra Looties or XP bonuses for their level up system.
MrLoot offers a VIP system acquired through special XP points, which you can accrue through several means. These include taking part in their daily ‘Loot Quests’, a range of tasks that includes helping MrLoot out with surveys and playtesting, through the daily prize wheel, or acquired through WinBoxes themselves. The fastest way to get XP points, however, is to purchase them.
Gathering enough XP, however you choose to do so, will see you levelling up through ten different tiers from Novice to Chroma. Each tier offers up bonuses, rewards, and perks which increase in value as you go. For a full rundown of these tiers, and how much they cost overall to achieve, simply check out my handy table below.
| Tier Name | Criteria |
|---|---|
| Novice | $0 Wager amount |
| Bronze | $1000 Wager amount |
| Silver | $10,000 Wager amount |
| Gold | $50,000 Wager amount |
| Platinum | $150,000 Wager amount |
| Diamond | $500,000 Wager amount |
| Master | $1,000,000 Wager amount |
| Mythic | $2,500,000 Wager amount |
| Ancient | $5,000,000 Wager amount |
| Chroma | $10,000,000 Wager amount |
‘Instant Charge’ here refers to the amount of spent Looties and credits you are able to claim back should you lose.
While MrLoot does have an extensive FAQ section, there are a few ways to get in touch directly with their support staff should you have any questions or run into an issue.
I found that e-mail is the best route for general enquiries, the responses are slower but there is less pressure on the staff to respond. Whereas more urgent contact should be made to their WhatsApp line, which got me a response within a half an hour.
The responses in both instances were helpful and answered everything I had to ask, including my options for prize delivery outside of the U.S. and what I needed to do should I run into an issue with any prize I claimed.

MrLoot accepts a wide range of payment methods, including Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal, most cryptocurrencies, and legitimate MrLoot promo codes and gift cards.
Though it is worth noting that at some point you will be expected to spend real money on Looties to open a wider variety of boxes. Unlike many gaming platforms, loot box options in games, or ad-based apps, at some point you will need to spend money to keep opening boxes regularly.
Just remember to be mindful of your spending. I advise you to check out the MrLoot site’s Provably Fair section, which outlines exactly how the odds are tallied to make sure every player gets a fair experience, it will also give you an idea of the odds of netting a prize worth as much or more than what you’ve spent to get it.
This transparency is more and more important these days, and it’s always good to be mindful of the odds with which you’re playing, as well as keeping an eye on how much you’re spending.

As is the case with many lootbox sites, it can be quite an addictive pastime, but it should stay a pastime.
It is always going to be tempting to keep opening boxes and seeing what you get, as the anticipation is half the fun, after all. But it is important to stay safe and never put yourself in a vulnerable position while playing.
MrLoot even helps with this, which I found to be a very nice touch. As well as their provably fair section, outlining the equal and fair odds for all players, they have a section on responsible play that helps anyone in danger of overspending limit themselves on the site itself.
These tools include restriction to the site for 24 hours as a cooling off period, and self-exclusion to extend this restricted access for longer periods via a code in your e-mail. You can also opt in to spending limits enforced by MrLoot itself, which caps how much you can spend by an amount set by you. Any changes to this limit take a week to come into effect, so you have time to rethink your choice.
They also offer advice on self-assessments, ensuring you have the external tools you need to help keep an eye on what you’re spending.
From my first impression of a nicely presented website to the extensive information I had on hand before even creating an account, my further delving into MrLoot didn’t disappoint. Used sparingly and within my means, I found it to be a nice treat to myself much like buying a booster pack of Pokémon cards at my local nerd store.
The extensive tools and advice available on MrLoot itself helped me keep a cap on what I was spending, which I found to be very useful in my play as even I can sometimes lose track or fall into my own ‘just one more’ trap that I’m sure we can all relate to.
If you’ve got money burning a hole in your pocket, and fancy the chance to claim some pretty cool prizes, then I recommend following one of the links in this review to get started on MrLoot!
