Sheff Utd v Nottm Forest Championship betting preview and tips
Sheffield United were in the box seat to land automatic promotion from the Championship two games ago, although consecutive draws against Birmingham and Millwall means that Chris Wilder’s side are now three points behind Leeds United.
The Blades have enjoyed a fantastic season but they can ill-afford any further slip-ups if the Yorkshire side are going to avoid the play-offs and the lottery that will then ensue.
We’re confident that they will return to winning ways on Good Friday, with Sheffield United having won thirteen of their twenty-one matches at Bramall Lane and they’re up against a Nottingham Forest side who have really gone off the rails recently.
The Tricky Trees were hoping for a promotion charge of their own a few weeks ago, although three consecutive defeats against Rotherham, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers means that their season has fizzled out.
Away form has been dodgy for most of the season, with Forest having landed just three wins on the road this term and it’s likely that motivation levels will now be dropping with just four games remaining.
Rather than opt to back the Blades are rather prohibitive odds, we’re instead casting an eye towards Sheffield United winning to nil. Defensively, we’re looking at a team who have only conceded seventeen goals in twenty-one home games.
Wilder will be focused on his team keeping a clean sheet and they’ll be confident of nullifying a team who were soundly beaten at Hillsborough two weeks ago without managing to find the net.
Billy Sharp will be looking to get back on the goal trail for United after managing to score just once since mid-February, with the forward having bagged twenty-four goals this season.
