Doncaster v Charlton Betting Tips
Charlton Athletic were fifteen points better off than Doncaster come the final standings in League One and we can’t resist backing the Addicks for their play-off trip to the Keepmoat Stadium.
While Lee Bowyer’s side have only won ten of their twenty-three away games this season, the London outfit finished the campaign like a train and they have lost just one of their past fifteen matches which gives us plenty of confidence that they won’t lose to Doncaster.
Seven of the past eight Charlton games have seen the Addicks land a victory and that includes wins at Wycombe, Plymouth and Gillingham. They’ve seemingly improved as the campaign has worn on and have the experience of clashing with Shrewsbury in the play-offs last term.
Doncaster boast pretty decent home form, with just three defeats in front of their own supporters all term and Grant McCann’s side average nearly two home goals per game.
However, they were without a win in three matches until beating Coventry decisively in the final match of the regular season, with Accrington winning at the Keepmoat and Rovers also lost at Sunderland.
There’s plenty of reliance on star striker John Marquis for goals and he’s managed twenty-five this season, although Charlton can be content with the fact that they’ve taken four points from the two games against their Yorkshire opponents this term.
Lyle Taylor is having the time of his life in front of goal for Athletic and has plundered nine goals in his past ten matches, with the former AFC Wimbledon man bidding to score for the fifth game running.
