Malmo FF v Chelsea Europa League betting preview and tips

Europa League
Tip: Chelsea win to nil
Units: 1/5
Odds: +110

Chelsea are currently favourites to win the Europa League, with the Blues having cruised through the group stage of the competition after winning five games and drawing the other one.

Maurizio Sarri was able to field fringe players throughout the group stage and his team conceded just three goals while scoring twelve. The away wins at PAOK and BATE saw Chelsea enjoy a 1-0 victory and we might see something similar in this clash.

Sarri will want to get the job done in Sweden rather than have to field a strong team for the second leg encounter at Stamford Bridge, with Gonzalo Higuain cup-tied due to his involvement with Milan during the earlier stages of the competition.

Olivier Giroud might relish his opportunity to shine, with the Frenchman having scored four goals during the group stage and there are also likely to be opportunities for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ross Barkley.

Chelsea have a squad bulging with quality and they will be confident of enjoying a victory against a Malmo side who finished second in their Europa League group and they were third in the Swedish league last season.

Malmo have not played a match since the middle of December, with the Swedish side mustering seven goals in their six group games, with Uwe Rosler hoping that his team can keep things tight against a tough team.

Markus Rosenborg is the key man for the Swedish side and the former West Brom striker managed fourteen goals last season, with Marcus Antonsson also a goal threat from midfield.

Chelsea will be happy enough with a slender margin of victory and an away goal would put them in pole position, with Sarri having to contend with the prospect of competing in a League Cup final, FA Cup and also making sure that the team land a top four spot.
