Chelsea leapfrog Liverpool in Premier League
Chelsea were gone at the game according to many onlookers after defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal. However, the Blues have since won their last six Premier League matches without conceding a goal.
It means that Chelsea are top of the Premier League table, with Ladbrokes now offering a best price 3.60 about Antonio Conte’s side winning the title and they certainly look like the ones to beat right now.
Chelsea are not involved in European competition this term, with the London side having had a horrible campaign last season although Conte appears to have the right personnel and formation to make a fist of things this term.
It helps not to be involved in the Champions League, with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa performing at the top of their game, although the whole team is contributing to the overall success at the moment.
Victor Moses was the man of the match during Sunday’s 1-0 win at Middlesbrough, with David Luiz and N’Golo Kante also stand-out performers for the London club this term.
Manchester City remain favourites for the title and William Hill are prepared to take them on with a 3.25 quote about Pep Guardiola’s side. They were able to beat Crystal Palace on Saturday thanks to an unlikely brace from Yaya Toure.
It appears that Toure has made up with his manager for now, although City will be a Champions League side for most of the season and the bookies are no longer certain they are champions-elect.
Liverpool remain in a good spot after a goalless draw at St Mary’s, with the Reds missing a series of chances which would have given them another three-point haul. Bet365 have 4.33 about a win for the Merseyside team.
Then come Arsenal who are 9.00 shots after a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. Arsene Wenger’s team barely deserved that result, with Manchester United dominating and the Gunners are another side who have Champions League commitments.
Spurs were staring defeat in the face although two Harry Kane goals turned Saturday’s game on its head against West Ham, with Tottenham a 19.00 chance with Ladbrokes to win the title.
United are 34.00 to finish up as champions, with the Red Devils dropping more points and Jose Mourinho’s claim that they are the unluckiest team doesn’t resonate with bookmakers or punters.
