EFL Cup quarter-final preview
We’re down to the last eight of the EFL Cup, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United heading the outright betting.
All three teams will be showing several changes for their quarter final matches this week, with Liverpool up against Championship opposition in Leeds United.
The Reds are 3.00 with bet365 to go all the way in this competition, although Jurgen Klopp has several injuries to contend with and perhaps his side won’t have things their own way against a Leeds side who are fifth in their respective league.
Leeds are as big as 15.00 with BetVictor to pull off a shock and we’re expecting Garry Monk to name a strong side for this clash, with the draw on offer at 7.50 and that could go close.
The other match on Tuesday night will see another Premier League side entertain Championship opponents, although it’s the latter who are strangely favourites for this encounter.
Newcastle United sit top of their league and they are 2.30 with Unibet to claim a victory at the KCom Stadium which would see the Magpies reach the last four of this competition.
It should be noted that Rafael Benitez would like to win some silverware at St James’ Park but his main aim is to ensure that the Tyneside club are restored to the top flight and perhaps Hull City are being underrated by the layers.
The draw is a 3.50 chance in this match and perhaps backing each of the four quarter final matches to end up all square is the way forward.
Arsenal are up against Southampton on Wednesday night, with the Gunners a shade of odds-on to triumph against a Saints side who have played a similar number of games due to Europa League involvement.
Perhaps the 1.85 with William Hill that Arsene Wenger’s team triumph is a good bet although the 3.90 with bet365 that this one goes the distance makes more appeal and there’s the chance to back Claude Puel’s team at 4.50.
Finally, West Ham United return to Old Trafford, the scene of where they landed a 1-1 draw and bet365 customers can get 5.00 about this one ending all square again which makes more appeal than the 1.50 that the Red Devils win.
