Premier League Game Week 2 betting preview
Tottenham Hotspur clash with Chelsea at Wembley Stadium, with Manchester City going up against Everton on Monday.
Manchester United are top of the Premier League and they’ll be well backed to win Saturday’s lunchtime encounter at the Liberty Stadium, with bet365 offering 1.36 (4/11) about a Red Devils victory.
The bookies are taking no chances considering Jose Mourinho’s team swept the floor with West Ham last weekend, with Swansea priced as big as 10.0 (9/1) with Unibet and it could be a difficult afternoon for Paul Clement’s side.
There are five Saturday 3pm kick-offs and that includes Liverpool hosting Crystal Palace, with the Reds no bigger than 1.37 (7/19) to register three points against an Eagles side who lost their opener 3-0 against Huddersfield.
However, Palace have a good recent record at Anfield and Paddy Power ’s 9.0 (8/1) is worth a second glance considering that Liverpool will have played a tough midweek Champions League clash in Germany.
Bournemouth are strangely odds-on at 1.91 (10/11) with bet365 to beat a Watford side who pushed Liverpool all the way last weekend and perhaps the Hornets can land the spoils at 4.0 (3/1).
A less entertaining game is surely on the cards at Turf Moor between surprise GW1 winners Burnley and a West Brom side who are always happy to win by 1-0 scorelines. The Draw is trading at 3.10 (21/10) with BetVictor which seems a reasonable ploy.
Leicester City scored three goals at the Emirates but failed to get a single point, with the Foxes chalked up at 1.80 (4/5) with Ladbrokes to beat newcomers Brighton and Jamie Vardy is a 4.50 (7/2) chance with William Hill to score the opening goal.
Southampton threw the kitchen sink at Swansea last weekend and they’ve been getting backed all week, with Unibet chalking up 1.70 (7/10) that the Saints march to victory against bottom of the table West Ham.
Meanwhile, the final Saturday Premier League match features Stoke City against Arsenal, a fixture with plenty of needle and the Potters had an excellent home record against the Gunners until a 4-1 reverse last season.
Stoke are 4.75 (15/4) with bet365 to set the record straight, although most of the money has come for Arsenal and they are trading at 1.75 (3/4) with Unibet following a 4-3 victory over Leicester which had positive and negative elements.
Huddersfield and Newcastle clash in the battle of the Premier League new boys on Sunday, with the Terriers priced at 2.30 (13/10) with bet365 to get another priceless win, while the Magpies won’t want another defeat and they are 3.10 (21/10) with Ladbrokes to get off the mark.
Tottenham v Chelsea is the highlight match of the weekend and the money has come for Spurs, with bet365 currently trading 2.05 (21/20). The Blues are already depleted although they’ll hope to shine at Wembley and BetVictor have 3.50 (5/2) that the visitors come up trumps.
Finally, there’s a north-west battle on Monday night and Manchester City are flying off the shelves, with Pep Guardiola’s side a best price 1.33 (1/3) with Unibet . Everton are as big as 11.0 (10/1) with Paddy Power to follow up that win against Stoke with a surprise victory at the Etihad Stadium.
