Premier League GW5 preview and tips – 15/16/17 September
After the excitement of the UEFA Nations League action, we now have the return of domestic football and we can strap ourselves in for a weekend of Premier League matches which starts with a humdinger.
Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool games tend to be entertaining and this should be no difference, with Spurs having won at Manchester United and then lost at Watford in their previous two matches.
BetVictor offer 9/5 about the London side winning this Wembley showdown, with some punters being able to recall a handsome 4-1 Tottenham win in this fixture last season.
Liverpool were all at sea defensively in that clash although they have Alisson between the sticks and Virgil van Dijk marshalling the defence, with bet365 going 29/2 that the Reds continue their 100% start to the campaign after four straight wins.
Bournemouth clash with Leicester later on Saturday afternoon and bet365 go 11/8 about a Cherries win, with the Foxes looking in good nick and they are 2/1 with the same bookmaker.
Chelsea look like home bankers at 1/5 to beat Cardiff, with Huddersfield v Crystal Palace likely to be a more competitive affair and the Terriers are 2/1 to capture their first Premier League win of the season.
The Eagles have lost their past three matches although Roy Hodgson’s team are a 29/20 poke to claim the points at the John Smith’s Stadium, with Wilfried Zaha expected to be back for this clash.
Manchester City look like a shoo-in at 1/10 with bet365 to beat Fulham although the Cottagers might show plenty of ambition of their own moving forward and they can be backed as big as 25/1 to claim a surprise win at the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal are odds-on to win at St James’ Park which might not be to everyone’s tastes, with the Gunners having won 3-2 at Cardiff after beating West Ham 3-1.
A better bet could be Unai Emery’s side to win and both teams find the net, with bet365 offering 5/2 that this happens for a third Arsenal game running, with Newcastle continuing a run of tough matches and they are 100/30 to get the job done.
Watford clash with Manchester United and bet365 go 10/3 about a Hornets side who are buzzing at the moment, with a 100% record being boasted after consecutive wins over Brighton, Burnley, Palace and Spurs.
The Red Devils are a 17/20 poke to get the job done, with United having won 2-0 at Burnley last time out and starting to look fairly impressive under Jose Mourinho.
Wolves look like worthy favourites at 6/7 to beat Burnley on Sunday afternoon, with the Midlands side having started the season well, while Everton clash with West Ham and the visitors could be a spot of value at 16/5.
Southampton clash with Brighton on Monday night, with Mark Hughes’ side even money to claim another maximum haul against the Seagulls. The visitors are 16/5 to win at St Mary’s and claim their second win of the campaign.
