Premier League preview 21-22 January
Chelsea continue to sit pretty at the top of the Premier League, with the Blues unlikely to cede any ground this weekend when they entertain Hull City on Sunday.
Chelsea have won nine of their ten games at Stamford Bridge and Ladbrokes offer 1.20 (1/5) that Antonio Conte’s side get the job done, with Diego Costa back in the squad and ready to fire after making up with the manager.
Chelsea are likely to be in lots of doubles and trebles on Sunday, with Arsenal available at 1.20 (1/5) with William Hill to get the better of Burnley. These sort of prices are a touch short for many punters but BetVictor serve up 1.44 (4/9) about the two London teams triumphing.
Perhaps Southampton will be added into the mix and they play in the opening top flight match on Sunday, with the Saints available at 1.83 (5/6) with William Hill to beat a Leicester City side who are yet to win away from home this season.
However, the Foxes have had a light schedule compared to their opponents and perhaps Sunday is where the current champions break their duck away from home, with BetVictor going 4.75 (15/4) about Claudio Ranieri’s side claiming three precious points.
On Saturday, we have seven Premier League encounters and Liverpool are another team trading at very short odds when they entertain a Swansea City side who are conceding a lot of goals at the moment.
Paul Clement’s side could be lambs to the slaughter, with Liverpool on offer at 1.22 (2/9) with William Hill although the same firm have 1.66 (4/6) that the Reds lead at half-time and full-time, with Jurgen Klopp looking for them to fly out of the traps.
Bournemouth clash with Watford on Saturday afternoon, with the Cherries a 1.83 (5/6) shot with William Hill to get three points against the Hornets. Eddie Howe’s side were excellent when racing into a 3-0 lead against Arsenal although they somehow let that advantage slip.
Manchester United have a tough-looking clash at the bet365 Stadium although the odds suggest an away win, with the Red Devils as short as 1.57 (4/7) to claim three precious points.
Stoke are possibly the biggest priced value team on the Premier League coupon, with BetVictor prepared to quote 6.50 (11/2) about a win for the Potters and it can’t be ruled out.
On Saturday evening, we have a teatime treat in the form of Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur and the visitors are looking like a tasty price, with BetVictor prepared to go 3.75 (11/4) that Mauricio Pochettino’s side get the win.
Spurs are absolutely flying at the moment, having won their past seven matches in all competitions and they are averaging three goals per game at the moment, with Manchester City experiencing struggles by contrast.
City are a 2.10 (11/10) chance with William Hill to win the game although Spurs are notoriously difficult to break down and this could be the game where the fans start to turn on Pep Guardiola.
