Derby vs Huddersfield Prediction: Betting Tips, Preview & Odds

Championship Betting Tips & Odds: Derby play Huddersfield at iPro Stadium on Saturday 7 August, Kick-off: 17:00. Read on for our free prediction, match preview and team news for this football fixture.

Derby County have faced a summer of turmoil off the pitch, with the Rams in a financial mess and it’s not clear as to whether new owners will be in charge of the Midlands club come the start of the 2021/22 season.

It seems certain that Derby will be operating under a transfer embargo and it’s hard to bet on a side who can’t strengthen a squad who only escaped relegation to League One by the skin of their teeth last term.

Huddersfield have been busy in the transfer market in a bid to rise further up the Championship table and we are happy to side with the visitors to Pride Park along with the draw, with their opponents easy to oppose in the circumstances.

Match Odds

Derby are slight betting odds favourites to beat the Terriers although it’s hard to make a case for a team who have hired Phil Jagielka, Richard Stearman and Ryan Allsopp to train with them, although it’s far from certain as to whether any deals can be done.

Even if they can, they hardly smack of an ambitious Championship club and it looks virtually certain that a season of struggle is on the cards. The bookies anticipate a low-scoring clash and they are also leaning towards the prospect of BTTS No which means at least one side will fail to score.

Betting Prediction

Our prediction is that Huddersfield will avoid defeat and the best way forward is to bet on Carlos Corberan’s side on the Asian Handicap betting market. You can back the visitors to Pride Park with an asian handicap 0 selection and that means half your stake is placed on the Terriers off scratch.

In order to win the bet, we need Huddersfield to win, although a draw would get our money back. Lee Nicholls, Ollie Turton, Levi Colwill, Matty Pearson, Josh Ruffels and Jordan Rhodes have been recent signings which can help their cause.
