Arsenal v Man Utd FA Cup betting preview and tips
The pick of the FA Cup fourth round matches takes place on the Friday night, with Arsenal clashing with Manchester United and we’re excited about the prospect of two big clubs squaring off in this competition.
A few weeks ago, you might have fancied the Gunners to enjoy a victory against a Red Devils side who were looking toxic under Jose Mourinho but have certainly found a new lease of life under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer has restored the confidence levels of players such as Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, with the latter scoring for fun and the England striker bagged his team’s winner at Wembley recently as United claimed a victory over Tottenham.
The team’s transformation under the Norwegian has been remarkable and they look a big price to overcome an Arsenal side who have been wobbling regularly since that winning run ended last autumn and there is little to like about the way in which the team are defending.
Rob Holding continues to be absent and the fact that the Gunners have only won three of their previous eight games doesn’t inspire confidence, with Unai Emery’s offensive tactics likely to cause problems when United collect the ball and look to launch counter-attacks.
That United win at Wembley might serve as the blueprint in this clash, with the defence looking altogether more solid and there’s no competition when it comes to the respective merits of the two keepers on the pitch, with David de Gea once again on top of his game.
Solskjaer will desperately want to win a trophy and keep that excellent winning run going, with Romelu Lukaku, Fred and Alexis Sanchez waiting in the wings for their opportunity after the whole squad seemed to have raised their game.
