Brentford v Leicester Betting Tips & Predictions
Brendan Rodgers would love to win a trophy with Leicester City this season, although there’s no doubt that the Northern Irishman would prefer to land a place in the top four which would mean Champions League football next term.
The Foxes are well placed to realise this ambition considering they have an eleven-point cushion over fifth-placed Manchester United, although Rodgers will be concerned by recent form which has seen his team lose to Southampton and Burnley in consecutive matches.
Leicester saw off Wigan in the previous round of the FA Cup although it was a fairly makeshift team that took to the pitch for that game and it’s possible that we’ll see a similar XI for this clash, with James Justin, Kelechi Iheanacho, Marc Albrighton and Wes Morgan among those likely to figure.
It’s therefore hard to be confident that the visitors are a good thing at Griffin Park considering they will meet a Brentford side who are among the better outfits in the Championship this season and currently have a strong chance of getting promotion.
The Bees sit fourth in the second tier and Thomas Frank’s side have won their past seven home matches in all competitions, with the London side playing an attacking brand of football which could yet see them overhaul Leeds or West Brom in the table.
Ollie Watkins has eighteen goals for the season including five in his past five encounters and the former Exeter forward could make more headlines against Leicester, with Algerian forward Said Benrahma also in excellent form for Brentford.
We think it could be worth chancing the home side off scratch on the Asian Handicap which gives us the insurance of money back if the game ends in a draw, although we have a suspicion that Brentford can actually win this FA Cup clash and make the fourth round.
