Wolverhampton v Liverpool Premier League betting preview and tips
We’ve got the final third round tie of the FA Cup taking place on Monday night, with Wolverhampton Wanderers hosting Liverpool just a few weeks after the two teams clashed at Molineux in the Premier League.
On that occasion, it was a professional job from the visitors who claimed a 2-0 victory thanks to some typically excellent defending and it was Fabinho who stood out in that defensive midfield position which appears to be a missing piece of the jigsaw for Liverpool.
Quite whether the Brazilian will be seen in this game is another matter, with Jurgen Klopp clearly prioritising a Premier League title this season and the Merseyside team are in an excellent position to claim a first championship since 1990.
There is also the small matter of the Champions League where the Reds will clash with Bayern Munich, although Klopp will want to try and make some progress in the FA Cup which represents an opportunity to claim a domestic double and potentially an overall treble.
Unfortunately the draw hasn’t been kind considering that Wolves have quickly cemented themselves as a solid Premier League outfit who have already accumulated enough points to remain in the top flight.
Nuno’s team have done pretty well against the top teams this season and the Portuguese will fancy a crack at this cup competition, with the Midlands side having already achieved victories over Tottenham and Chelsea this term.
Neither side will want a replay at Anfield although that doesn’t mean that the game isn’t heading for a draw and we think that the defences might be on top in a match which could see key Liverpool players like Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk given the night off.
Team selection is often crucial when it comes to placing bets and that’s why we’d steer clear of Liverpool winning this game at odds-on compared to the draw price which appears to be attractive.
