Chelsea v Newcastle Betting Tips & Predictions

Chelsea have already had an eventful season which got off to the worst possible start when Frank Lampard’s team were turned over 4-0 at Old Trafford.

There was also a Super Cup defeat against Liverpool days later, while Leicester and Sheffield United managed to ride out early storms at Stamford Bridge before claiming a point, although the Blues are now on an upward trajectory.
Since losing valiantly at home to Liverpool, Chelsea have strung together four victories and they’re heavy favourites to make it five against a Newcastle side who are set for a relegation battle in the Premier League this season.
The Magpies did beat Manchester United before the international break, although Steve Bruce’s side took advantage of a Red Devils team in disarray and it will be a much tougher assignment to get something against a team who are scoring so many goals.
The London side have bagged eighteen in eight matches and boast the division’s joint-top leading scorer, with Tammy Abraham plundering eight and sure to be sniffing out opportunities against a Newcastle side that have lost three of their four away matches.
Sure enough, the Tyneside outfit did win at Tottenham earlier in the campaign, although they have only mustered three goals on the road and it was noticeable that Chelsea were much stronger defensively when beating Brighton 2-0 and Southampton 4-1.
Fikayo Tomori has now become the first-choice centre half for Chelsea and there has also been the introduction of Mason Mount which now means Eden Hazard is becoming a distant memory for many fans.
We know that Newcastle’s game plan will be a defensive one, with the Longstaff brothers operating in the central midfield area for the visitors, although this is a team who are short on goals and star signing Joelinton has only scored once since his arrival in the summer.
