Chelsea recorded a fairly comfortable 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 9 November and we’re expecting a similar outcome on Tuesday night, with the Blues firmly on course for a top four finish as things stand.

Team news | League Table | Odds

Frank Lampard’s side did have a wobble at West Ham last week, although their post-lockdown form has largely been strong, with victories over Aston Villa, Watford and Manchester City having been recorded, while there was also an FA Cup win at Leicester.

Lampard was delighted to see a recent stout defensive performance against the Hornets and he’ll be confident of keeping a shot-shy Palace team at bay, with Roy Hodgson’s side struggling to find the net in the past few games and it’s been a concurrent theme over the past few seasons.

After winning 2-0 at Bournemouth immediately after the restart, the south London team have drawn blanks against Liverpool, Burnley and Leicester, with the visitors likely to be low on possession in this clash at Selhurst Park.

Wilfried Zaha returned to the team for the recent clash at the King Power Stadium although Palace could only muster one shot on target during the ninety minutes, with Christian Benteke and Jordan Ayew both fielded for this match and one is likely to make way in this encounter.

As for Chelsea, they might have suffered a transfer embargo this season although Lampard still has a big squad of international players and players such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Billy Gilmour and Tammy Abraham will be chomping at the bit after cameo appearances in the last game.

Jorginho, Marcos Alonso and Antonio Rudiger were all given the night off and we think that Chelsea could win this encounter comfortably, with Lampard looking to achieve that defensive sturdiness which deserted the team at the London Stadium.
