This Premier League match on Tuesday 23 June represents a perfect opportunity to provide a betting tip that opposes Leicester City. The Foxes have enjoyed a fantastic season and are likely to qualify for the Champions League, although they can’t rely on much home advantage here.

Team news | League Table | Odds

This will be Leicester’s first match at the King Power Stadium and the latest betting odds indicate that Brendan Rodgers’ team are heavy favourites to land the three points after playing away to Watford at the weekend.

The Midlands side have won nine of their fifteen clashes at home this season, although our prediction is that they might find life tough going in an empty stadium with no passionate crowd to cheer them on. Just look at the drop in the number of home wins in the Bundesliga since the restart to see how the same thing might happen in England.

Brighton are scrapping against relegation in the Premier League once again, although they have only lost twelve of their twenty-nine games and the Seagulls’ chief problem has been scoring enough goals to keep them well clear of the drop zone.

Before the lockdown, Graham Potter’s side were on a winless run of nine games in the top flight, although six of those were draws and the only defeat by two goals or more was a 3-1 reverse at Bournemouth.

On the basis of those stats and the diminished home advantage at the King Power Stadium, the prediction has to be Brighton on the Asian Handicap and we’re torn between the latest betting odds. Do we take a chance with the Seagulls enjoying a +0.5 goal start which would require them to either draw or win the game?

While this is tempting at odds-against, we will instead play things slightly safer and go for a bet on Brighton +1 instead, giving us the insurance of money back if Leicester win by a single goal.

While Rodgers’ team ran riot when beating Aston Villa 4-0 before the lockdown, a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then and we’re expecting this to be a tighter affair than the odds suggest.
