Manuel Pellegrini saw his West Ham team suffer a crushing 3-0 defeat at Molineux and admitted that performance levels couldn’t get any worse.

Since beating Arsenal 1-0, it has now been three straight defeats against Bournemouth, Wimbledon and Wolves, with the Hammers suffering a large number of injuries and the latest of these have been to the disloyal Marko Arnautovic.

It’s hard to see how the London side are going to handle a Liverpool side highly motivated by the prospect of landing their first Premier League title since 1990, even if the Reds have suffered a few injury problems of their own.

A crazy 4-3 win against Crystal Palace highlighted that perhaps Jurgen Klopp’s team aren’t as watertight as earlier in the season, although Joel Matip is likely to sit alongside Virgil van Dijk and there aren’t any issues with the team’s most dangerous attacking players.

While backing Liverpool to win to nil could be a dodgy bet, we like the even money about the Merseyside team being ahead at the interval and then kicking on to win.

West Ham have lost five games at the London Stadium this season and they’ve actually conceded more goals than they have scored in front of their own supporters, with wholesale changes required to make the squad more competitive.

This was a match that Liverpool won 4-1 last season and they handed out a 4-0 thrashing to this team back in August and their waves of attack could see the visitors ahead at the break and then kick on to victory.

Mohamed Salah’s form continues to be incredible and this is a team who will now want to keep their foot on the gas and deliver an early title. They are likely to set about opponents low on confidence from the off and get the job done.
