Wolverhampton v Man City Premier League betting preview and tips
Wolverhampton Wanderers have the ultimate test at Molineux when they clash with a Manchester City team gunning for another Premier League title
Apparently Wolves are the best ever Championship team to be promoted to the Premier League, although they were given a tough test by Everton a fortnight ago at Molineux, especially considering that the Toffees were down to ten men for half the game.
Nuno Espirito Santo has strengthened his squad for the top flight although it was Ruben Neves who was the stand out player in the curtain-raiser, with the Portuguese midfielder having been brilliant in the second tier last term.
It is clear that Wanderers are going to go on the front foot in every home game this season, with Diogo Jota drawing the foul that led to Phil Jagielka seeing red, while Raul Jimenez is on loan from Benfica and the 27-year-old was on the scoresheet against Everton.
However, while Wolves pulled up lots of trees last season, they now challenge themselves against a Manchester City team who wiped the floor with the opposition last season and Pep Guardiola’s team are in fine fettle once again.
City have already despatched Chelsea in the Community Shield before going to Arsenal and landing a 2-0 win, with Benjamin Mendy catching the eye and the champions look stronger for having Riyad Mahrez in the team.
The English champions will be missing Kevin de Bruyne for several weeks, although the two Silvas are likely to feature in this clash, with Leroy Sane hoping to get a run at Molineux and Raheem Sterling set to stretch the opposition.
Richarlison was able to nip in and bag a brace against the Wolves defence which will encourage Guardiola, with it being virtually impossible to see City not scoring.
However, the champions are always trading at short odds to win games these days, with the best bet looking like a City win and both teams finding the net.
