While Spain have qualified for the Euro 2020 finals from Group F, the other berth is firmly up for grabs, with Sweden and Romania battling it out for second spot and these teams clash at the Arena Națională in Bucharest on Friday night.

The Swedes are a point better off and a draw in this clash will virtually confirm their place in next summer’s tournament considering that they entertain the Faroe Islands a few days later, while the Romanians travel to Madrid for their final qualifier against Spain.

Romania have struggled to land victories at home during this campaign, losing 2-1 against the Spanish and being held to a 1-1 draw against Norway. Even more worrying was the fact that they could only beat Malta by a single goal.

Cosmin Contra’s side will have to go on the front foot here in search of a victory, with Claudiu Keșerü posting the most attacking threat, while Reading’s George Puscas has also scored six goals in twelve international appearances and could be part of an attacking formation.

However, there’s little doubt that Sweden have a better team on paper, with manager Janne Andersson retaining the nucleus of the squad who qualified for the 2018 World Cup and then reached the quarter final of the competition.

There continues to be a lack of firepower although Robin Quaison has probably established himself as the country’s leading scorer, with Emil Forsberg and Albin Ekdal classy midfielders who can orchestrate the play in this clash.

Sweden have only lost once in eight qualifying matches and that’s why we’re siding with the visitors on the Asian Handicap market, with the Scandinavian side available to back at a decent prize off a mark of zero.
