Bayern Munich v Liverpool Betting Tips

We’re going to see a big European club exit the last sixteen stage of the Champions League after this match at the Allianz Arena, with the bookmakers struggling to split Bayern Munich and Liverpool in terms of which side will qualify for the quarter finals.

It is Jurgen Klopp’s side who are marginal favourites to reach the last eight after the goalless draw at Anfield which means that scoring a goal in Germany would need Bayern would require to then outscore their English opponents.

However, we’re not convinced Liverpool should be favourites to get over the line considering that they have constantly been found wanting away from home in Europe this season.

The Reds lost away to Napoli, Red Star Belgrade and Paris Saint-Germain during the group stage and aren’t that formidable machine away from Anfield this season, with Roberto Firmino struggling to be fit for this encounter.

While Liverpool were the side that created the most chances in the first leg, it is likely to be a different story at the Allianz Arena, with Bayern boasting home form of 7-3-1 in the Bundesliga this season.

Bayern have also won their last six matches on home soil and have quality all over the field, with Serge Gnabry especially prominent at Anfield, although Robert Lewandowski is the scorer that keeps giving and he has twenty-five goals for the season to date.

Klopp couldn’t seem to put a finger on why his Liverpool team weren’t able to deliver away from home during the group stage, with the Merseyside outfit currently focused on winning the Premier League title for the first time since 1990.

While Liverpool reached the Champions League final last season, the focus will surely be on delivering that domestic glory and the chance to back Bayern at odds-against on home soil doesn’t come along very often.
