When the Champions League last sixteen draw was made, Paris Saint-Germain would have felt pleased to have been paired with Manchester United, although that probably isn’t how Thomas Tuchel is feeling right now.

Things have changed significantly at Old Trafford to the extent that the Red Devils are now in the Premier League top four, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continuing to enjoy a honeymoon period at his beloved club which could yet see the Norwegian given the job on a permanent basis.

Not only have United improved markedly since Jose Mourinho departed, they will also be facing a PSG team who are missing Neymar and Edinson Cavani for this clash, while Thomas Meunier is also likely to be missing.

It’s hard to get away from the distinct possibility that United will establish a first leg advantage, with Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo the only players missing.

Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku might have to settle for a place on the bench considering the form of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, with Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba shining at Fulham and they’ll be highly motivated against several of their compatriots.

PSG are the top dogs in France although Thomas Tuchel saw his team outplayed at Anfield when losing 3-2 and they were also fortunate to hold Napoli to draws during the group stage.

We think that the United confidence will get them over the line in this match, with Pogba demonstrating why he’s one of the world’s best players at the moment and this is a Red Devils side could cause maximum damage.

United have beaten Arsenal and Tottenham since Solskjaer became manager and they seem to be passing each test with flying colours, with Kylian Mbappe the big danger man for the visitors.
