PSV v Inter Milan Champions League preview and tips
Internazionale turned a negative into a positive by beating Tottenham Hotspur in Champions League GW1, with the Milan side coming back from a goal down to overcome their English opponents and give themselves a strong chance of qualifying for the last sixteen.
Luciano Spalletti’s team take to the road for their second game and they’ll visit the Netherlands to face a PSV side who were soundly beaten by Barcelona in their group opener.
Inter actually haven’t started their domestic campaign particularly well, although Mauro Icardi showed his attacking instinct when bagging the equaliser against Spurs, with Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic also strong midfielder capable of cutting apart any sort of opponents.
PSV have enjoyed a flawless start to life in the Dutch Eredivisie at the time of writing, with the champions of the Netherlands probably not too disappointed by losing their opener at the Nou Camp.
After all, this was expected considering how strong Barcelona are at home, with Lionel Messi up to his usual tricks, although it’s worth noting that the scoreline was only 1-0 until twenty minutes left.
Previously to that 4-0 defeat, PSV spanked Den Haag by a 7-0 scoreline away from home and Ajax’s convincing win over AEK Athens illustrates that there is a resurgence in Dutch football at the moment.
All things considered, Inter will be happy to take a point from this clash before meeting Barcelona home and away. They were struggling to create chances against a weakened Spurs side until the end of the game and we can see them being held by a PSV team who will fancy their own chances of finishing second.
