RB Leipzig v Bayern Munich Betting Tips
Two of the strongest teams in Germany will meet at the Olympiastadion on 25 June, with Bayern Munich looking to make it a domestic double by winning the DFB-Pokal after a likely Bundesliga triumph on the final day of the season.
Bayern failed to make much of an impact in the Champions League this season and certainly seem like a shade of the team that operated under Pep Guardiola, although they are still strong favourites to land this piece of silverware.
Bayern have managed to keep Borussia Dortmund at arm’s length in the Bundesliga this season, with the team having avoided defeat since a 3-1 reverse at Bayer Leverkusen in the beginning of February.
Niko Kovac’s side recently met Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena and the two sides played out a goalless draw, with Robert Lewandowski effectively nullified along with dangerous operators such as Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller.
Lewandowski has been predictably prolific this season, with the Polish striker having plundered thirty-nine goals in all competitions this term and perhaps this is the big occasion for him to step forward and get among the goals.
However, Leipzig have shown themselves to be capable of containing the Bayern attack and they were slightly unfortunate to lose 1-0 at the Allianz Arena in December, with Franck Ribery scoring a late winner on that occasion.
Ralf Rangnick’s team have finished third in the Bundesliga standings this season and they won’t have been all out as the season drew to a close, although there were recently five consecutive wins before a 3-3 draw away to Mainz.
Timo Werner has been on the goal trail recently, with five goals scored in eight matches, although this team are strongest in defence where they’ve conceded just twenty-seven goals in thirty-three league games.
We’re therefore going to back Under 2.5 Goals at odds-against. Leipzig will look to try and sneak a win, knowing that an open and expansive game could play into the hands of their opponents.
