Borussia Dortmund v PSG Betting Tips & Predictions
There’s an intriguing clash taking place at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday 18 February, with Borussia Dortmund hoping to steal some kind of first leg advantage against a Paris Saint Germain side who were highly impressive during the Champions League group stage.
PSG have been one of the bridesmaids of this competition in recent years, although Thomas Tuchel will be confident that the champions of France can go deep this season and the German will return to his former club with his current team riding predictably high at the top of Ligue 1.
Sometimes you feel as though the French side would benefit from having tougher competition domestically, although there was plenty to like about the way they won their Champions League group which consisted of five wins and a draw.
There were seventeen goals scored and just two conceded, although perhaps it wasn’t the toughest section considering that Club Brugge and Galatasaray fell well short of the mark, while Real Madrid were always playing catch-up after losing 3-0 at Parc des Princes.
Paris have lost twice on the road in Ligue 1 this season and, despite brilliant attacking players like Neymar, Mauro Icardi and Kylian Mbappe, Tuchel might be somewhat pragmatic against a dangerous Dortmund side.
The German team haven’t lost at home in the Bundesliga this season and rallied from two goals down against Internazionale to win 3-2 during the group stage which ended up being the pivotal result for them.
Dortmund tend to score a lot of goals in front of their own supporters and we feel they could potentially head to the French capital with an advantage, although the best option could be backing them with half a goal advantage on the Asian Handicap.
PSG wouldn’t be too dismayed with a high-scoring draw before the second leg and there might not be a huge appetite to try and get the tie won at the first attempt.
