Valencia vs Chelsea Betting Tips & Predictions
Champions League Group H is massively up for grabs, with Valencia, Chelsea and Ajax all sitting on seven points after four matches played.
The first two of these teams meet at the Mestalla on 27 November, with the Spanish side knowing that victory will effectively put them in the last sixteen considering that they won at Stamford Bridge and therefore boast a better head-to-head record.
However, a defeat would mean they would go to Ajax in the final match needing to win in Amsterdam and even that might not be enough to go through.
Therefore, the situation is finely balanced, although it’s worth noting that Valencia haven’t lost any matches at home in La Liga this season, with Albert Celades’ side having won three and drawn four.
They also came from behind against Lille in their previous Champions League clash to win by a 4-1 scoreline although this should be tempered by the fact that three of their goals were in the last ten minutes of the game.
Chelsea are the favourites to win the game and it’s hard to oppose a side who are enjoying such a strong season in the English Premier League although their 4-4 draw against Ajax was a clear illustration that the Blues can be defensively porous.
Frank Lampard’s side are full of attacking vigour although they continually got picked off by the Dutch champions and the manager will want to address these shortcomings.
On the flip side, Chelsea have almost looked more comfortable on the road this term and they have already won away to Lille and Ajax, with a draw suiting them in this match before entertaining French opposition in their final game.
N’Golo Kante is back in the fold and offers competition for places along with Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic, with Christian Pulisic playing some brilliant football and we think the visitors can make their point.
