France Women v South Korea Women Betting Tips
France are among the favourites to win the 2019 Women’s World Cup, with the ladies hoping to follow in the footsteps of their male counterparts who triumphed in Russia twelve months ago.
The omens are good, especially when you consider that Lyon won the recent Champions League final and seven of those players are now part of Les Bleues squad for the upcoming tournament.
France have never won a Women’s World Cup, with fourth place in 2011 their best achievement in this competition to date, although there are reasons for expecting them to be at the business end this time around.
Recent results have been very strong and the French Women have won eight of their past nine matches, recently thrashing Denmark 4-0 after beating Japan 3-1. They’ve looked defensively solid in their games and should be more than a match for South Korea in this tournament curtain-raiser.
The majority of the South Korean Women’s squad play their club football on home soil and the standard is not as high as their European counterparts, with the team having recently lost and then drawn against a modest Iceland team in a two-part friendly.
There was also a crushing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Australia and they will rely on Chelsea forward Ji So-yun to find the net for them against a team who believe it’s their time to shine on the world stage.
Eugénie Le Sommer is a French legend and the 30-year-old will come into this tournament with 74 goals from 159 international appearances, while Lyon club-mate Amandine Henry will drive the team forward as captain and the team will be confident of an opening victory.
As you might expect, France are short on the 1X2 market, although we can get with the hosts at -2 on the Asian Handicap which means money back if they win by two goals and a profitable bet if they prosper by three or more.
