Today's bet is running in the closing handicap hurdle at Musselburgh run over an extended 2m3f - priced at 4.50 (7/2), it's worth the wait!
Locally trained by Iain Jardine, the five-year-old mare is becoming a regular winner under both codes and has shown a distinct liking for this track. She won a couple of times over hurdles last season - a class 4 maiden hurdle at Worcester in June 2015 and a mares' handicap hurdle at Sedgefield in October of that year - and signed off by finishing a close second at Perth in April, which classed as a career-best effort.
She then had her attentions switched to the Flat and, having won a couple of times on the all-weather previously, she showed improved form to win three consecutive handicaps at Redcar and Musselburgh (twice), going up 13lb in the ratings in the process. After the last of those, her trainer said she was "improving rapidly" and in that case she is potentially well treated here on a mark of 114, with Shane Shortall taking 3lb off her back.
The partnership could only finish fourth of the seven runners over track and trip 11 days ago. However, that was a class 3 contest and that means she is dropping down a grade this afternoon, while she would have finished a lot closer had she not been left at the start, leaving her with plenty of ground to make up. Providing she gets away on terms this time, she must have every chance of beating ten rivals, the majority of whom are more exposed.
Take bet365 's 4.50 (7/2) as that is top price and the firm are going 'best odds guarantee plus', meaning they won't just pay you out at the starting price (if it's bigger), but will give you an additional enhancement.
