Bournemouth v Sheff Utd Betting Tips
Bournemouth began the 2018/19 campaign with a 2-0 win over Cardiff City and the Cherries will be facing another promoted team on the opening day of the 2019/20 season, with Sheffield United making the fairly long journey down to the south coast.
The Blades finished second in the Championship last term to land automatic promotion and a return of 89 points was pretty outstanding given the modest budget that manager Chris Wilder had, although the manager will need serious financial backing if the Yorkshire club are to remain in the top flight.
At the time of writing, United haven’t recruited any new players and it might be that the visitors to the Vitality Stadium take a while to adjust to life in the top flight, while Bournemouth will look to emulate the fast start that was enjoyed by the Dorset club last term.
Eddie Howe’s side started the campaign like a rocket before their form dipped badly although Lloyd Kelly has been recruited and the England Under-21 international will surely slot in at centre-half which has been a problem position for Bournemouth in recent years.
Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser remain pivotal to the Cherries moving forward, although more can come from David Brooks who will be lining up against his former club and looking for this to be a real breakthrough season.
Howe is not naïve when it comes to having to strengthen the squad although the club now have plenty of experience when it comes to top-flight football and the home side will be pleased that this fixture has been thrown up as an opener.
Chris Wilder has never managed at this level and it’s important to remember that he was taking charge of the Blades in League One as recently as three seasons ago, with the manager unable to draw much top flight experience from his players.
