Borussia Dortmund are still the outsiders to win the 2019/20 German Bundesliga title although they have begun the restart in excellent form, winning 4-0 against Schalke before a 2-0 victory away to Wolfsburg.

Lucien Favre’s team have been looking watertight in defence and typically full of goals moving forward, with Raphael Guerreiro having pilfered three times and he provides plenty of danger along with fellow wing-back Achraf Hakimi.

It’s hard to see anything other than an away win for this Sunday afternoon encounter between a team in second and one propping up the other clubs in the division, with Paderborn having been out of their depth for much of the campaign.

It will be no disgrace if Steffen Baumgart’s team are relegated considering they are something of a yo-yo club in German football, although they have always aimed to play positive football at the Benteler-Arena and we should expect this to continue.

Paderborn average well over one goal per game and they have scored in the past eight home matches, while Borussia Dortmund are less preoccupied about running a tight defensive ship and more focused on outscoring the opposition.

Indeed, the two teams played out an exciting 3-3 draw at the Westfalenstadion which was one of the highlight performances and results from the German minnows this season, although they might not be able to match that result this weekend.

We can be fairly confident that this game will produce a fair amount of goals and will back the away win along with both teams finding themselves on the scoresheet.

Dortmund have averaged three goals per Bundesliga game since the restart and the presence of Erling Haland makes them a devasting proposition, while Jadon Sancho might be let loose after being used sparingly thus far.

Borussia have averaged more than two goals per away game this season and we’re expecting more of the same as they chase down victories to keep the pace with Bayern Munich.
