Chelsea v Bayern Munich Betting Tips & Predictions
The bookies might have got their prices wrong for the upcoming Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea regarded as the rank outsiders when they clash with Bayern Munich.
While it’s hard to deny that this represents a stern test for the Blues, they are currently a top four Premier League team and have coped pretty well since losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid last summer.
The London outfit were put in a difficult qualifying group and were dealt a setback when losing at home to Valencia in their opening game, although Frank Lampard’s side rallied to finish second behind Los Che and ahead of Ajax.
Chelsea have been operating with a 4-2-3-1 formation for the most part this season, with Tammy Abraham swiftly becoming the first choice striker at the club, while Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic have all shone in broadly equal measures.
Funnily enough, the Blues have struggled more at Stamford Bridge than they have on their travels although this might feel like an away game considering that Bayern Munich will be coming forward in numbers.
The German champions have already won handsomely in London this season after triumphing 7-2 at White Hart Lane and they are strong favourites to claim a first leg advantage although they might not have things their own way.
Domestically, Bayern are in a proper scrap for the title and trail Leipzig by four points at the time of writing, while they have only managed to win 50% of their games on the road this term.
Therefore, there could be some merit in getting with Chelsea to avoid defeat in this game and a bet on them with half a goal covers the home win and draw.
The big question mark is whether the defence will be able to hold Bayern at bay, although Antonio Rudiger has added steel to the back four since returning from injury.
